Pres. Obama's Knee-Pad Media; Economy Still Weak; Is Obama Just Arrogant?; What if Spike Lee Had Been A White Guy?; Marion Barry: The Gift That Keeps On Giving; Chavez: Going Down

Headline in the Onion's Economic News sections: High Unemployment Linked To Increasing Number of Face Tattoos.

  • It's certainly no secret that most of the mainstream media is in the president's hip pocket. I used to refer to them as Obama's "knee-pad" media. But how pervasive is it or will it be in the coming months?  Let's take a look back 4 years in time. During the 2008 campaign, I recall being in Borders at the time (now out of business) and I noticed a remarkable phenomena---images of then Sen. Obama or Michelle Obama or both were on a plethora of magazine and book covers. So the inquisitive part of me decided to do an anecdotal survey. During one of my clandestine visits to either Barnes and Noble or Borders, I found 42 covers of Obama's on the cover of magazines and books. In fact, MSNBC, the premier knee-pad media for Obama, actually took a count in December of 2008. They found Obama appeared on half of Time magazine's covers and about the same for Newsweek.  Almost every single cover and article were praising them as the new saviors of humankind. Oh, and how many times did McCain appear on the cover of Newsweek during that same period?---a whopping 4 times. But all is not lost. Slo Joe Biden was never featured on Time. Newsweek obviously felt sorry for Slo Joe and put him on the cover---once (there were rumors abound at the time that Biden was a tad depressed. His hair follicle physician had told him he needed some of his hair replugged. Hey, but I'm not part of the main stream media that makes stories up, so let's leave that as what it should be---an unsubstantiated leak by a government source who wishes to remain anonymous).

  • The economic numbers came out for March, and to say they look miserable would be an understatement. The unemployment rate fell from 8.3% to 8.2%. That's like saying instead of paying $4.25 for gas; you paid $4.24. But the numbers within this report were disturbing. One of the reasons unemployment fell was that we now have a record number of people no longer in the labor force. Get your duct tape out and prepare to wrap your head: Almost 88 million people (these are American out of work and aren't searching for a job (Bloomberg). One more thing: a whopping 120,000 jobs were created. Remember, we're still hovering around 350,000 first time unemployment claims every week!
  • Several days ago I accused Pres. Obama of being a bully. I think he is. There is evidence to prove this claim from the manner in which he bullied insurance companies to the scorn he showed toward bankers and Wall Street (which, I've always been convinced was just for show considering he's surrounded himself with both)  to even accusing physicians of doing operations just for financial gain. And, most recently, the attacks on people of faith and the Supreme Court. I sincerely believe his behavior (and I am a behaviorist by trade) is evidence of arrogance. In fact, arrogance and bullying generally go hand-in-hand.

  • And yes, other presidents also took on the Supreme Court. I would contend for valid reasons. For example, when Lincoln was running for president, he warned that he would not enforce the Dred Scott decision upholding slavery in the United States. I'd say that was good use of the "bully pulpit." It was used for a moral purpose. Even William Ross, a law prof at Samford University in Birmingham, said: "It's virtually unprecedented for a president to criticize the institutional powers of the Supreme Court...I don't know of any other instance where a president has publicly questioned the legitimacy of judicial review."  (USA TODAY) But, retreating to my earlier point, a president who is arrogant would find it perfectly fine to do so even though that president has a background in Constitutional law.

Obama Lectured By His Former Law Professor; 9/11 Thugs To Be Tried---It's About Time; Media Malfeasance & Negligence Knows No Bounds; Green Fraud Update; 44 Year Ago: Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassinated

I'm trying to lose some weight so my pants aren't so tight. Never thought I'd be trying to get into my own pants...Kevin Nealon, Comic and SNL alumni
  • Pres. Obama is getting hammered for his attack on the Supreme Court last week regarding their review of Obamacare. He deserves the criticism. He was way out of line. Now comes news even his former law prof at Harvard is disappointed. In providing cover for his former student, Lawrence Tribe, the Harvard prof, said the president "obviously misspoke." How bad does your gaffe have to be for your former teacher to come forward and try to bail you out?

  • Even Reuters News is reporting the White House is in damage control over this very issue (this White House has been in "damage control" the day Pres. Obama stepped into the Ovula Office). Of course, leave it to that genius, Eric Holder, to come to the defense of his boss (considering his ass should have shown the door 3 years ago). As everyone is reporting the White House is back-tracking from the president's remarks, Holder actually said, "What the president said a couple of days ago was appropriate." But yesterday, this knucklehead had to back track his own statement when he said, "Courts have the final say in the constitutionality of statutes." No sh!t Sherlock!  Really folks, I couldn't make this stuff up even if I tried. And to think about 40-45% of the country will vote for this administration again. God, give us strength.
  • While I'm on Holder, it was announced that the 9/11 masterminds, including Khalid Sheik Mohammad, will be tried for plotting the 9/11 attack. If you recall, one of the reasons it's taken so long is because of a previous Holder f%#k up. He wanted the trials to be held in downtown Manhattan. Of course, there was huge pushback on that stupid idea including from Police Commish Ray Kelly and local leaders. So last year, the administration backed down and the case will be heard at Gitmo.

Pres. Obama's Bully Tactics; Newt: Get Out Already; Media Bias Distorts The Truth: 911 Zimmerman Tape Altered By NBC; Associated Press: Cowards; What About Your Budget Mr. President?

Sports Headline in The Onion this week: Miami Marlins Construction Crew Completely Unaware They've Been Building A Baseball Stadium. "There's that giant rainbow thing with the pink flamingos we built at the edge of the grass...so I'd say my best guess it's a big miniature golf hole...for disabled children," said foreman Frank Davies.

  • Is President Obama a bully? The Oval Office has long been referred to as "The Bully Pulpit", but  I'm not the only one asking that question these days. In fact, shortly after the president's attack on the Supreme Court yesterday (remember: that was his second conspicuous attack of the Court), I noticed a number of headlines suggesting he just might be. In fact, several news wires used the exact headline yesterday: Presidential Bully Tactics With High Court? (Yahoo and Fox). This is not the first time he's been accused of bully tactics reminiscent of Richard Nixon. If you recall, he and his administration attacked the great state of Arizona when they passed stricter laws on illegal immigration. More recently, his administration's overt attack on the Catholic Church comes to mind. Real Clear Politics is now reporting the president even went so far as to "instruct" reporters on how to report his {Obama's} positions. But this should surprise no one. After all, he got his political training in the gutters of Chicago, one of the most crooked political machines in the country. Those thugs know a thing or two about bullying. Just ask those who got in the way of the Daley family and the Kennedy's.
  • What is even more disturbing to many observers---even some liberals---is that the Pres. did not show respect for the independent role of the Supreme Court under our Constitution. "For the president to imply that the only explanation for a constitutional conclusion contrary to his own would be out-of-control conservative justices does the Court a disservice," wrote Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus. Ms. Marcus has been a long time supporter of this administration. In fact, just yesterday, the U.S. Court of Appeals sent a letter to the Obama administration demanding an explanation --- in writing ---whether the Obama administration recognizes the power of the Court. This was in direct response to the president's attacking the Supreme Court.
  • I noticed something significant in the primary results yesterday out of D.C., Maryland and Wisconsin. While Romney trounced everyone, Ron Paul beat Gingrich in two out of the three primaries---Wisconsin and D.C. Newt barely squeezed passed Paul in Maryland (by one percentage point). Really folks, the only reason Gingrich is remaining in the race is so he can put those nice steak dinners and 5 star hotel rooms on the campaign tab. There's absolutely no reason for him to continue with the exception of that other thing---his ego.

  • I've written a lot about the media's bias,  misconduct and malfeasance with regard to the Zimmerman shooting. But I wonder how many people even know that NBC News altered the 911 tape? They altered it to make it appear that Zimmerman was a racist. Well, they just apologized. But the apology is bogus because they blamed it on their "production process." If you recall, it was the media who railroaded Richard Jewell during the Atlanta Olympics bombing. This was a hero who the media made out to be a suspect in the bombing (FBI also screwed up in this case. They later apologized to him. I don't think the media thugs ever did. In fact, he later became a police officer. He died in 2007).
  • If you need any more evidence of the media bias in support of Pres. Obama, I suggest you simply Google what the Associated Press Chief, Dean Singleton, said of Pres. Obama when he introduced him to the news editors yesterday. His suck up speech is much too long to summarize here, but it's worth a look. Have your barf bag ready before you start reading or listening to his introduction. It's available at The Weekly Standard written by Dan Halper entitled, "Associated Press Chief Offers Lavish Praise for Obama." I guess they don't teach journalistic ethics in our universities anymore.
  • How bad is the Associated Press? To date, they've refused to blame Al-Qaeda for the 9/11 attacks. In most of their copies, they write, "Al-Qaeda has been blamed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks..." Cowards!!!

  • It's been a long time since we heard anything about Nancy Pelosi,  head honcho of the useful idiots out there and there are many.  I was reminded today that five years ago, Pelosi defied Pres. Bush's strategy of isolating Syrian leader and henchman, Bashar Assad (whose troops now have murdered about 8,000 innocent Syrians as far as we know).  In fact, the White House at the time referred to Syria as "a state sponsor of terror." But Pelosi was fine with that. As Speaker of the House at the time, she felt that Assad was a Western-educated reformer. She said, "We came in friendship, hope and determined that the road to Damascus is a road to peace," she told reporters at the time. Of course, the road to Damascus is now littered with dead bodies. In fact, the Syrian regime even used their meeting with her for propaganda purposes.

  • But Nancy Pelosi has a lot of competition for the "Biggest Dummy" in Congress. The image above shows who is running a close second. Note what she said.

  • Yesterday, Pres. Obama spoke to a group of news reporters. He hammered the Republican budget that cuts about a trillion dollars. Yet, not one of these alleged journalists bothered to ask him a very important question. A question I would have asked. "Mr. President, if the Republican budget is so bad, why did your last two budgets go down in total defeat? In fact, Mr. President, your current budget proposal did not get a single vote of support even from any Democrats. What do you attribute that to?"

  • The last several posts I also report on Keith Olberman's firing at Current TV. I also remarked that for a guy who hammered the 1%, he never walked the talk. An account executive from Current TV wrote this in an email: "The problem with him {Olberman)...the man professes to be for the 99% doesn't want any of the 99% talking to him or being near him." Obama: Constitution? What Stinking Constitution?; Olberman Kept Firing 99 Percenters; The Liberal Mindset; Props to Obama; Client #9 To Replace Olberman; Sex 4 A Big Mac?

On The Onion's "American Voices," they asked some Americans (most of the time the same three people  are interviewed in every issue) what they thought of Pakistan sentencing of Bin-Laden's relatives. Mark Carruth replied, "It's good to see Pakistan refusing to harbor terrorists' widows."

  • When we read pundits, largely from the right side of the political isle expressing concerns about Pres. Obama's view of the Constitution, can one blame them? In 2001, when interviewed on a Chicago radio station, Obama said of the Warren Court (one of the most liberal in our history), "It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed  by the Founding Fathers on the Constitution." Continuing on in the same interview, he referred to the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties" because it's clear about what the states can't do. In other words,  as evidenced by his assault on the Supreme Court yesterday, this president believes the Constitution is too constraining. Referring to the Court's review of Obamacare, he said yesterday, "I am confident the bill will be upheld because it should be upheld." (italics my emphasis). Folks, he wasn't directing that statement at us; he was directing it at the Supreme Court. He also went on to remind them that they were "unelected." He also accused the Court of "Judicial Activism." This from the president who appointed Kagan to the Court. And keep in mind, these attacks on the Supreme Court from a man trained as a Constitutional attorney (recall, if you will, he attacked the Court in front of the entire nation during a State of the Union when he knew they could not or would not respond. Fortunately, the camera caught Justice Alito mouthing "Not True." The president was criticized widely, from the left and right, because many felt that attack on nationwide TV was a breach of decorum).  Sen. Orin Hatch said it best in my opinion in response to Obama's attack on the Supremes, "It must be nice living in a fantasy world where every law you like is constitutional and every Supreme Court decision you don't is 'activist.'" And John Podhoretz reminded the president, "Justices are sworn to 'support and defend the Constitution.' not liberal self-satisfaction and the unerring liberal inability to accept the substance and merit of opposing arguments."

  • But these attacks on the Supreme Court should come as a surprise to anyone, this president and his administration have a long history of blaming everyone with whom they do not agree.
  • After the report of the firing of Herr Keith Olberman, I couldn't help wonder what the Occupy Crowd must be thinking. This was a guy they supported because he always attacked the 1%. Yet, according to reports, he kept getting his limo drivers fired. In other words, this limousine liberal kept firing hard-working folks in the 99%. Clearly shows us, yet again, the hypocrisy of the media and Hollywood crowd. By the way, Current TV was paying Olberman $10 mil a year for 5 years. Considering his audience plunged to 30,000 viewers, Current TV was ripped off big time.

  • Oh, one more item on this. Guess who is slated to replace Herr Olberman? None other than Client #9. Yes, Elliot Spitzer, the former disgraced governor of the great state of NY. And, yes, I know what you're thinking: Didn't CNN just fire Spitzer several months ago for horrifically low ratings? Well, in fact, yes they did. America---what a country!!!

MSNBC/NBC: You Are An Accomplice To Sharpton's Dangerous Rhetoric & Antics; Olberman Fired Again; Black Panther Arrested Who Put Bounty on Zimmerman's Head; Obama Hammering Romney in Recent Polls; It's World Autism Day

I think even Obama realizes the Obamacare thing is not looking good in front of the Supreme Court. He's starting to downplay it. Like, today, he called it Bidencare...Leno

  • Memo to MSNBC/NBC: You are an accomplice to Al Sharpton's dangerous rhetoric and antics. This man has a long history of race hustling, inciting riots and exploiting grieving families as he is now doing with Trayvon's family. He's exploited families to get headlines for himself---to only enrich himself.  From the Tawana Brawley hoax to the Crown Heights riots to the Trayvon shooting, this serial race-baiter and racist has been at the center of it all.  Even the NAACP came out this past weekend in direct opposition to Sharpton's call for an escalation to civil disobedience. And last week, Rev. Bryant, a former executive with the NAACP, said of Sharpton and his cronies, they are "buzzards circling the carcass of this young boy." They know, from Sharpton's history, this can only lead to innocent people getting hurt or killed. Yet, you continue to employ him as a host on your network. You should be ashamed of yourself. While he has every right to proclaim his vile comments, you do not have to keep him employed. Do the right thing and fire this rat bastard.

  • Nevertheless, this type of programming should not surprise anyone. Charlie Sheen is now  seen in several commercials and is planning a return to television. Reality shows with genuine jagoffs are commercial hits. Athletes with questionable backgrounds host sport shows.  As one commentator wrote after observing this garbage, "Hi friends, Charlie Manson here for Acme hardware. You know not all shanks are the same..." Phil Mushnick

  • To paraphrase Mark Twain, "First God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made people like Sharpton and Keith Olberman." But at least one network has some dignity left. Current TV, owned by another fake, phony and fraud, Al Gore, fired Herr Keith Olberman this weekend. In addition to his dismal ratings (about 30,000, that means the only viewers were largely made up of the Occupy type crowd---thugs, misfits and felons), it's being reported that he was just allegedly a pain in the ass. Reports are he went through 8 different limo companies because the drivers actually wanted to talk to him. He also refused to promote the network according to these same reports. In addition, his work ethic was "flaky." He took vacation days on some of the political world's most important events like the major primaries. Let's see. How many times has this prick been fired now? In fact, it was reported several years ago when ESPN had a big reunion show, they allegedly didn't invite one guy. That one guy was none other than Herr Keith Olberman. NY Post
