Obama: Bain Bad But Their Money is Good; Obama's Many Stumbles; Zuckerberg Might Be The Real Zucker; The Bogus Deficit Numbers; Memorial Day's Real Meaning

Today Romney met with a group of wealthy Latinos. Or as Romney calls them, "The Juan Percent."...Fallon

  • As the president and his knee-pad suck-ups continue to bash Bain Capital, there is one thing they do like about Bain---their money. Politicker is reporting today the Obama campaign said it will be keeping Bain Capital's political contribution to its campaign. I really have to wonder how many Americans will continue to fall for this nonsense. And what strikes me as even more disturbing, anywhere from 43-48% of Americans still support this administration. To say they are delusional is an understatement. I think the image above says it all.

Bill Clinton No Longer Supports Charlie Rangel; Colin Powell and Ed Rendell Refuse To Endorse Obama; Even Some of our Heroes Fall From Grace; Facebook's "Zuckers?"; Obama Struggling in Key States; More Physicians Will Not Accept Medicaid Patients; Obama Donor on Bain Board---OOOOPS!

President Obama gave a commencement speech at Barnard College. He told graduates their futures are bright unless they want jobs...Leno (Barnard College is an elite college for women. Tuition is over $40 grand a year).

  • You might have missed this news last week. Bill Clinton said he will not endorse the man above, Charlie Rangel, in his re-election bid. In 2010, Bubba backed Charlie. And Rangel was one of Bill Clinton's staunchest supporters during the Lewinski scandal. I doubt this will hurt Charlie. He's been representin' his district in Harlem for over 40 years (Charlie beat another ethically challenged politician at the time, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. While I take a lot of shots at Charlie---largely for his political shenanigans---it has to be pointed out he is a war hero. For his heroics in Korea, he received the Bronze Star With Valor and a Purple Heart. Unfortunately, his heroics do not shield him from his years of ethical lapses, in my opinion. One just has to look at another hero, Duke Cunningham. Cunningham was a Naval aviator during Vietnam. He became the only Navy flying ace during that war. He was also a TOPGUN training instructor. Unfortunately, he decided to enter politics representing a district in California. In 2005, he was convicted of accepting almost $3 million in bribes, mail fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion).

  • If you've either been following the Facebook IPO or invested, there's a new term that entered the lexicon this week---Zuckers. It appears somebody has some 'splaining to do. Shares fell again yesterday. As I write this today, it's fallen 18% in 3 days (If Zukerberg had a tendency to sweat a lot, he might be soaked by now). And now there are claims Morgan Stanley shared its lowered numbers only with select investors AHEAD of the IPO. In fact, regulators have issued a subpoena against Morgan Stanley for that reason. In fact, some Wall Street analysts said the stock should have been priced at about $10 bucks a share. And some see the stock returning to the $40 per share value. Hey, it's only been 3 days. But I do have one word of caution for investors: Myspace. (Reuters/NY Post)

Will Obama Dump Biden?; Double-Standard Quicksand: Corey Booker Fell In Head First; Soros Major Player in Private Equity and Major Donor To Democrats; More Evidence of Bad Economy: Less Traffic Gridlock

Experts say more people would have bought the stock {Facebook}, but they were too busy checking their Facebook...Leno

  • Considering Slo Joe Biden continues to be the nation's knucklehead (every word he now utters is pure nonsense), many are asking if Pres. Obama will dump Biden. The odds-on-favorite among some pundits is Hillary. The conventional wisdom is most presidents don't replace their VP. It's a rare event.  But Hillary would almost certainly be a plus for Obama's base. In addition, Slo Joe has become such an embarrassment, Obama might not have a choice. If he is replaced, I know I will miss him. He's better than any comedian on Comedy Central. The only difference between him and comedians is we laugh at him not with him.

  • There's one lesson all politicians and the main-stream media should learn about double-standards and hypocrisy---both can be quicksand. Once you fall into both; it can be hard to get out. Newark Mayor Cory Booker learned that lesson the hard way this weekend. On Meet the Press, he correctly made it very clear that the Obama campaign's attack on Bain Capital and private equity firms was "nauseating." He was right of course. But someone from the Obama campaign took him to the wood shed and Booker backtracked from those initial statements.
  • There was some good news for Booker. He was not alone among Democrats who chastised the administration for their attacks on Bain and private equity companies. Harold Ford, former black Democrat congressman, said Booker should not have backed off. And former gov of Pennsylvania and head-honcho in the Democrat Party, Ed Rendell, also came to Booker's defense. (NY Post and Hot Air)

Double-Standards: Rev. Wright vs. Bain Capital; The Kennedy Men: Pigs in Blankets; G-8 Countries: $29 Trillion in Debt; Myth of Arab Spring Up-Date; Virgins Await Lockerbie Bomber; Facebook

A new J.C. Penney catalogue features a gay couple. This is historic. It's the first time anyone gay has been spotted wearing J.C. Penney clothing. Conan

  • We all know the reality of double-standards---all politicians have them. Most lack any standards at all, so we should be happy they double-down on what few standards they have. However, many politicians have raised having double-standards to an art form.
  • The current debate whether to highlight Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm, versus Rev. Wright's despicable background is one example of many regarding double-standards. For example, the knee-pad media find it perfectly acceptable to raise the issue of Romney's tenure at Bain with largely misinformation and lies. Yet, when some conservatives raised the issue of Jeremiah Wright's hateful speech and Pres. Obama's two-decade association with this divisive man (all well documented and some on video)---well, that's hitting below the belt.

  • And what do you think would be the narrative today if Mitt Romney's religious mentor had said many of the things Rev. Wright said in the last 20 years? You can answer that question, because it's as obvious as that extra 15 pounds you're carrying on your waist.
  • By the way, just for the record, when Romney was associated with Bain Capital, their rate of return on investments was: 113%. Did they experience some losses, you bet. But, on average, they did very well. (The American) And what were some of the companies Bain invested in? Try Staples, Dunkin Donuts, HCA, Dominos Pizza,  Clear Channel and The Weather Channel. Those few companies alone have created a lot of wealth for individuals as well as many jobs. On the other hand, the Obama administration's jobs creation has been dismal by comparison.
  • Perspective: And while our politicians threaten to investigate J. P. Morgan's $2 million loss, our own government borrows more than that in ONE DAY.
  • Perhaps politicians should take the advice we're all heard since we were all children but now paraphrased for this generation: Tweet Others As You Would Like To Be Tweeted.
