  • For the first time in many, many years, the weather stopped me from working out outside today. As I opened my door and stepped outside, I thought I had entered an oven. It was 103 degrees. I turned around, went back in and took a nap. Where's that fake, phony and fraud Al Gore when you need him?
  • Yesterday, Pres. Obama declared that private job creation was "a step in the right direction." Is that so Mr. President?
  • In my post yesterday, I posed several questions for those folks who still support Pres. Obama. As I stated, the questions weren't directed at the ideologues. No amount of facts will deter their support of the president. Rather, I questioned the pragmatists, the realists, on why they could continue to support such overt failed policies.  Since yesterday's post, more disturbing information was revealed regarding the economy. In addition to the dismal employment report, the Social Security Administration reported that more workers went on federal disability last month than got jobs, 83,000 on disability to 80,000 jobs created. More disturbing, since the 83,000 went on disability, they are no longer counted as unemployed. This report closed the worst quarter we've had in 2 years.

  • The employment numbers are in for June. We added a "whopping" 80,000 jobs. In addition to yet another dismal performance, the unemployment rate is stuck at 8.2%. Black unemployment jumped to 14.4%. Latino unemployment remained at about 11%.
  • So, along with so many other policy failures, how much more will Obama supporters tolerate? I'm not directing that question at the ideologues. Ideologues on both the Left and Right are zealous and doctrinaire. No amount of facts presented will change their minds. No, I'm directing that question at the pragmatists on the Left. You cannot possibly pleased with what is going on in the economy. Pres. Obama is in his 4th year.
  • Let's pose the question in practical terms. Would you tolerate a coach who has 4 losing seasons? I know you wouldn't because fans ask for the coach's head after just one losing season. Would you tolerate a military commander who keeps sending troops into battles and keeps losing those battles? Lincoln's patience with Gen. McClellan ran out in 1862 when he replaced him as Commander of the Army of the Potomac. Lincoln said, "...He has got the slows." That's one of many problems Pres. Obama has---the slows.

  • Why is it that so many Obama supporters are such jagoffs? (I wrote, "so many" not all, so the rest of you can relax---but you're still friggin stupid). On Independence Day, one of those jagoffs, comedian Chris Rock, Tweeted, "Happy white peoples independence day the slaves weren't free but I'm sure they enjoyed fireworks." This jagoff doesn't even realize in many parts of the world, his writing this garbage would get him thrown in prison. But there were some good replies to Chris Rock. One wrote, "Good one. I bet your Guatamalen house staff got a good chuckle." Memo to the jagoff: The gates to this country open both ways. As millions keep moving in and not out, take the "your leaving the greatest country on earth" exit. You'll see how many give you the finger going the other way.

The Declaration of Independence: The Founding Fathers Precious Gift To Us

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."




I was born under the Soviet flag of occupation in Poland. My parents and most of my relatives (those who survived) spent six long years under the thumb of Nazi occupation. I fully understand how precious freedom is. That's one of many reasons why I fully appreciate what beautiful gifts our Founding Fathers bestowed upon us over 230 years ago in The Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights (and later, The Constitution).

In their wisdom, the Founders also knew they were writing a document not for their generation alone, but for all future generations to come. In other words, they passed on a very carefully thought-out reminder that---as Americans ---we have a duty, a responsibility to carry on the core principles and values embedded in these documents.

  • For some months now, the Obama campaign criticized Romney for his association with Bain Capital, a private-equity firm. But when a private-equity firm helps bail out a Philadelphia Company, Sunoco refinery, Democrats can't get enough of private equity. Yesterday, a Sunoco refinery that was threatened with closure at the end of July, was saved by The Carlyle Group, a private-equity firm. And guess who is on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer today praising The Carlyle Group?---Philadelphia Mayor Nutter. Just two months ago , Nutter bashed Romney for his association with private-equity firms like Bain. It's also clear now why former Pennsylvania Gov. and Mayor of Philadelphia, Ed Rendell (as well as other high-profile Democrats), came to the defense of Romney when the Obama campaign bashed Romney for his Bain association. I'm sure Rendell knew about The Carlyle Group's intention of saving 850 jobs at Sunoco.
  • Oh yes, one more thing. United Steelworkers jumped on the Romney-Bain bashing wagon too. Yet, it was the United Steelworkers who supported this Carlyle Group venture and bailout.
  • As a sidebar, The Washington Examiner reported that the Obama administration spent over $17 grand on office supplies at Staples last year---Staples happens to be one of the companies Romney saved while he was at Bain.
  • While many conservatives lament the Supreme Court's decision last week (as they should), there were two outcomes that should please conservatives, considering they are conservative goals. One, the Court limited the scope of the Commerce clause. That decision limits government overreach into commercial activity. And the Court also limited the government's ability to threaten states with the loss of Medicaid money if they don't want to participate in ObamaCare.

  • There appears to be more evidence emerging that Chief Justice Roberts changed his vote at the last minute. More disturbing, there are now reports that pressure by Democrats, Pres. Obama and the knee-pad media may have also influenced him.
  • For example, CBS and Face The Nation are reporting Roberts initially sided with the other Justices who wanted to strike the law down, but later switched his position. In fact, it's also being reported that Justice Anthony Kennedy led the effort  to bring Roberts back to his original position. According to sources, Kennedy was "relentless."
  • As more information leaks about his decision, I can see conservatives and Republicans exhibiting more anger at Roberts. An observer likened the decision to a college prof who receives a poorly written thesis from a student, rewrites the thesis for the student and then gives the student a passing grade.

  • Having said this, I agree with many pundits and political observers, the decision has already helped Romney's base as evidenced by almost $5 million his campaign raised within 32 hours of the Court's decision. Peggy Noonan wrote this weekend, "...They (Republican backers of Romney) will have the help of their base, which is, at the moment, angry as hornets, loaded for bear, and fully awake."
  • Even Lanny Davis, former special counsel to Bill Clinton, wrote in USA TODAY: "...he (Obama) won the court; now he needs to win public opinion."
