Staten Island: Obama's & Bloomberg's 9th Ward; While Obama Said Vote For Revenge, Romney Said Vote For Your Country; Some in MSM Finally Have Questions About Benghazi

Pres. Obama cancelled the White House Halloween party. He didn't want to. He just didn't want to risk a trick-or-treater to ask him about Benghazi...Leno

  • It now appears Staten Island (the Borough That NYC Forgot...NY Post) and some other parts of the East Coast hit by Hurricane Sandy are Obama's and Bloomberg's 9th Ward. As I wrote in my blog yesterday, it was absurd for Mayor Bloomberg to plan on holding the NYC Marathon while parts of his city resembled a third-world country (not my description but Staten Island Borough's President James Molinaro). Fortunately, somebody told Bloomberg he was nuts trying to hold a marathon when thousands were still out of power, still out of food, still out of water and still not getting any help. As of yesterday, over 280,000 New Yorkers were still without power, 44,000 of those on Staten Island. Death toll, as of now, is 109.
  • As thousands upon thousands of Americans were in survival mode, Pres. Obama was giving speeches about green energy yesterday and today. Talk about being out of touch.

  • Reporters found out that Bloomberg had designated 31 generators for the race. Those generators could have provided power to over 1,000 homes. They were not being used as of yesterday.  In addition, while many New Yorkers were out of food and water, there was food, water, coffee, industrial heaters, refrigeration, and more designated for the runners in the race. And, add to that FUBAR, police, EMT's and other emergency personnel were to be reassigned to the marathon. The race promoters and Bloomberg finally came to their senses and cancelled the race. NY Post
  • Of course, that ticked off a lot of the runners, many of whom traveled half-way around the globe to run in the race. One guy from Dubai said it cost him $6 grand to get to New York. He would have preferred the genius mayor to have cancelled the race earlier.
  • Drudge is now reporting that FEMA is out of water (out of water in America?).
  • Everything you need to know about Pres. Obama and Romney is in what both said to their supporters yesterday. Obama urged Americans to "vote for revenge" while Romney told Americans to "vote for America."
  • And one of Hollywood's biggest Aholes, Bill Maher, told Romney supporters: "Black people know who you are and will come after you."

Unemployment Rises Higher Than What Obama Inherited From Bush; Food Stamp Growth 75 Times That Of Job Growth; Mayor Bloomberg Still A Blooming Idiot; Sandy Taught Us What Life Was Like Without Technlogy; NJ Unions Turn Back Alabama Utility Crews Because The Alalbama Crews Are Non-Union

Report: Only Way Nation Will Pay Attention To Climate Change Is If Julia Roberts Dies In Hurricane...The Onion

  • If you've not heard the news yet, unemployment rose to 7.9% in October. Out of the last 40 months, the unemployment rate has been under 8% for just 2 months. It's also higher than the rate he "inherited" from Pres. Bush.
  • Unemployment for blacks rose to 14.3% from 13.4%..
  • The long-term unemployment rate is now over 40% or 5 million people. That includes people out of work longer than 27 consecutive weeks.

  • Food stamp growth is 75 times that of job growth.
  • Yesterday, I went down to the Jersey shore to help a friend clean up her house. Fortunately for her and most of her neighbors, the damage was specific to their garages (with the exception of those homes with rooms on the first floor). I saw a lot of sand in the streets and a lot of refrigerators and carpeting being tossed (in this particular shore community, home owners were allowed to return yesterday). I also did not see much government help. It was Americans helping Americans.

  • I only bring this up because of what I read in the NY Post this morning regarding the significant damage done to lower Manhattan, Staten Island and some other boroughs. As thousands of New Yorkers were raiding dumpsters to put food on their tables, Mayor Bloomberg not only decided to endorse Obama (and that's fine, but he based his endorsement on Obama's alleged leadership in fighting global warming. That's hilarious on its face), but he also decided to  still hold the NY Marathon on Sunday. When I first heard he wanted to still hold the marathon, my first inclination was to agree with him. My reaction was based on the getting back to "normalcy" as quickly as possible. But that was until what I learned about how many New Yorkers are still suffering. Even more disturbing, massive generators are parked in Central Park to serve the marathon. These generators could provide power to over 400 homes. Moreover, the generators are now running 24/7, but not supplying power to anyone. In addition to this disgraceful action, resources (like NYPD officers, transportation officials, etc.) are being diverted to help in the marathon.  A veteran police Lt. said, "How can you run a marathon when people are starving in Manhattan?" And if that is not bad enough, the upper level lanes of the Verrazano Bridge are being closed for the marathon. This will exasperate the already insane traffic for all New Yorkers. That's in addition to the insanity New Yorkers are now facing with the subway system, buses, commuter rails, commuter buses, ferry boats, bridges and tunnels (now open) and taxis (many were flooded because large numbers are parked in Hoboken, NJ, that is still flooded. Bottom line: if things improve by Sunday, many New Yorkers will still be suffering. In my opinion, watching a marathon is low on the priority scale right now. It's also an even that can be rescheduled.

The Obama Legacy: Frightening

Hurricane Sandy Has Already Created More Jobs Than Obama Has...Leno

With only 5 days left to the election, let's take one last look at the Obama Legacy. I warn you: it's frightening:

  • Just reported today, two-thirds of jobs created under Obama (and there have not been many) went to legal and illegal immigrants. Washington Times from The Center for Immigration Studies and DOL.
  • 44.5 million people on food stamps.
  • Almost $72 billion spent on food stamps in 2011 alone.
  • Poverty rate in 2011: 15.1% (up from 12.4% in 2008)
  • Black unemployment stands at about 14.1%.
  • Hispanic unemployment rate stands at about 11.1%.
  • 23 million people either unemployed or underemployed.
  • 4.8 million number of long-term unemployed as of Oct. 2012.
  • Approximately 683,000 women have lost their jobs under Obama.
  • Dozens upon dozens of failed green initiatives similar to Solyndra with billions wasted of taxpayer money.
  • $1.7T estimated cost of ObamaCare by 2022.
  • ObamaCare to impose almost $570B in new taxes and fees (ObamaCare has already spiked insurance premiums).
  • 30 million will still be without health care in 2022.
  • 1 in 2 college grads cannot find meaningful full-time employment.
  • 1 million, the number of homeless students, 18 and under, during the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Teenage unemployment stands at about 24%.

Media Using Sandy To Absolve Obama Of All His Sins; No Surprise Why Obama Is Losing The Young Voters

New Unemployed Woman Enjoys Equal Pay For The First Time In Her Career...The Onion

  • Well, as many predicted, leave it to the presstitutes in the media to do what they do best: Instead of covering Obama, they cover for him. Yesterday and today, many are proclaiming how "presidential" Pres. Obama is behaving regarding his response to hurricane Sandy. To those nitwits, I say he's just doing his job. But they are going even further. They are trying to use Sandy to absolve Obama for his past four years of failures.

  • But it even gets more disturbing. For example, yesterday MSNBC actually hammered Romney for collecting food and supplies for hurricane victims. For example, on Bashir's show (fortunately only watched by patients in mental institutions), he had a guest on who said, "I found that sort of fake, relief rally, whatever it is, to be pretty offensive." Remember, these are also the nitwits who lecture us on civility all the time. These are the nitwits who lectured us for the past three days to keep politics out of the disaster.
  • It didn't end there. USA TODAY, which is usually well-balanced, had this headline today: "Obama Puts Recovery Ahead Of Re-Election Bid." Yeh, so. That's what any president would do. I have to give some credit to USA TODAY. The next piece below that Obama story does show Romney in Kettering, OH (a place I know well. I used to live there) participating at an event collecting supplies for storm victims.
  • In addition, the Romney/Ryan campaign have been texting continuously for social media peeps to donate to the Red Cross.
  • A reminder: It was Obama who went to a fundraiser in Vegas when the Benghazi consulate was attacked.
  • So the question remains: will voters judge Obama on his response to Sandy or to the last 4 years of economic horror he's created?
  • Yesterday, Pres. Obama said we leave no one behind. I guess that does not include Americans working overseas in our embassies or Obama voters.

'Cane Sandy A Bitch; Romney/Ryan To Focus On Relief Efforts; Father of Tyrone Woods (Former SEAL Killed in Benghazi) Largely Ignored By Media; Polls Still Moving In Romney's Direction; Romney Up in Ohio; Proof Pigs Fly: Oliver Stone Rips Obama

Hurricane Gives Hold-Up Couple A Chance To Have All Those Fights They've Been Avoiding...The Onion

  • Last night, perhaps for the first time in the history of the Delaware Valley, long sections of I-95, Rt. 1 and The Blue Route were shut down. Public transportation is currently down in most of the Philadelphia area including NJ Transit (large sections of track were wiped out along the Jersey coastline and several bridges are damaged).
  • Jersey is also experiencing problems with safe drinking water. Electrical companies are reporting the most blackouts in history.  The Jersey shore got hammered especially Atlantic City and the barrier islands. Gov. Christie continues to show great leadership. In fact, Christie just announced his chopper can't land in many of the shore points he wants to visit because of flooding and damage. Knowing Christie, he'll get to those areas somehow.

  • New York City got hammered too. Power is out in large parts of the city. Even the subway system is down. Authorities reported they've never had such a disaster in the subway system in its 108 year history. In Queens alone, about 80 homes flooded and caught fire.  It's estimated that 10 people died in the NYC area. All in all, Sandy was a bitch.
  • Romney and Ryan announced they will focus their efforts on hurricane relief efforts today. Yesterday, they announced their field offices will have relief supplies available as well as using the campaign bus to transport relief supplies.

Obama Administration: Hyperincompetence; Camille Paglia: Closeted Conservative?; Paper Endorses Romney: First Time It Endorsed A Republican in 40 years; Romney Up 20 Points Among Independents; Romney Helping Hurricane Victims

Okay Obama, now it's time for you to show you can stop the rise of the ocean. Put up or shut up. Tweet by GrottaHouse

  • In my post yesterday ("Making the Case For Romney"), I endorsed Romney. With the more recent revelations regarding Benghazi, I believe this scandal shows "hyperincompetence" on the part of the Obama administration.
  • But how bad are things when one of the most dedicated and famous feminist in the nation agrees with you?
  • Last week, Camille Paglia, came out against Obama (she did not endorse Romney). And she was not kind with her criticism. She admitted voting for Obama in 2008. She admitted she was very excited about Obama. She said, "I thought his election would promote racial healing in the country. ...now I consider him one of the most racially divisive and polarizing figures ever. I think it will take years to undo the damage he's done." In addition,  one might think a liberal like Paglia would like what ObamaCare offers. It's not the case. She describes Obamacare as "a Stalinist intrusion into American culture...You don't want government agencies being empowered to intrude into people's lives like this." Me thinks Camille might be a closet conservative.
  • Obama's failed policies are one thing. But it appears many libs like Paglia are disappointed in the countless promises broken by Obama from closing Gitmo to racial healing to government transparency (as the lack of  now evidenced by the Benghazi scandal) to the economy (promising if the stimulus package was passed unemployment would now be under 6%) to stopping the rise of the oceans (apparent today on the East Coast).
  • Even the Des Moines Register got the message. It endorsed Romney this weekend. The last Republican the paper endorsed was Nixon in 1972.

  • While many Americans are focused on the election and now the Benghazi scandal (although the Pressititutes media's coverage of this scandal is conspicuous by its absence. Only Fox News is doing commendable coverage), the other outrage is what is happening with the Ft. Hood case. Did you know the Obama administration still refers to the Ft. Hood shooting as a case of "workplace violence?" They proclaim this absurdity even as the evidence clearly shows Nidal Hasan himself defended suicide bombers. He also said Muslim service members would be justified in killing U.S. troops. Even more disturbing, this creep communicated with Anwar al-Awlaki according to the FBI. Awlaki, at the time, was one of the world's most wanted terrorist (thanks be to Allah, we smoked his sorry ass by a hellfire missile in September 2011). And this posture by our government should surprise now one considering Gen. George Casey, the Army's Chief of Staff at the time, actually said: "As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse." Hard to believe a jerk like this rose so high through the Army's ranks. NY Post
  • Don't expect the economy to recover much in the coming months. This headline in USA TODAY spells it out: "Business Spending Tightens As Fiscal Cliff Nears." (you can review what the fiscal cliff holds for us in my previous post).
  • In most national polls, Romney is leading Obama. As reported last week, it appears the gender gap is now closed (a shift of 16-20 percentage points to Romney in just two months). Among men, Romney is whooping the president 65-32% {ABC/WaPo}. Obama is still getting big numbers from Blacks and Latinos. But here's what has to be driving the Obama campaign a tad nuts. Among Independents, Romney is leading Obama 58-38% (ABC/WaPo). That's friggin huge.

  • During Madonna's concert in New Orleans on Saturday, she declared, "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama." She was booed. Folks, that's New Orleans.
  • In my post yesterday, I reported on the many good deeds by Romney and his family. With Sandy approaching, the Romney campaign is donating their bus to be used to help hurricane victims. They will use the bus to transport donations to those in need. Romney campaign offices will also be collecting storm relief supplies.
  • To all those folks on the East Coast who will be battling Hurricane Sandy (that includes moi): Be prepared and good luck. God bless.

The Case For Romney & Against Obama

The case for electing Mitt Romney instead of re-electing Pres. Obama, I find it a relatively simple one to make. It comes down to this for me: Romney is not Obama.

While Romney is a man of character and principle, Obama is not.  While Romney's history shows he's led "from the front," Obama prefers to lead "from the rear." While Romney said to Obama he (Obama) inherited the greatest nation on earth, Obama whined, blamed others, made countless excuses,  and even bowed to foreign leaders (One of those was bowing to the Japanese emperor). While Romney can take the "heat," Obama is thin-skinned, prickly and defensive. While Romney changed some of his positions, Obama's lied repeatedly. While Romney had a plan for his presidency should he be elected, Obama just published his last week (He's been a president without a plan). While Romney's campaign focuses on the issues and policies, Pres. Obama appears on TV talk shows (Daily Show, The View, Letterman, MTV, etc), uses "Big Bird, " "Binders," "Bumps in the Road," "Lady Parts" as rhetorical weapons and says of Romney, "The other guy is a bullsh!tter."

We also know this about Mitt Romney's character and core values.  In 1995, after the Romney's heard of a family whose sons were left a paraplegic as a result of a car accident, the Romney's offered to pay their college expenses and supported the family through many fundraisers.

When the daughter, Melissa Gay,  of one of his business partners went missing while visiting NY City in 1996, then CEO of Bain, Romney, closed down the Boston headquarters and flew to NYC to try to find Mellisa Gay. Romney set up a command post at the Marriott with 50 of his employees. He consulted with the NYPD and even hired private investigators. Five days later, Melissa was found in the home where a 17 year old had hidden her. Melissa is now married and a teacher.

There are literally many stories like this about the Romney's including saving a family whose boat had overturned in NH in 2003. The Romney sons and Mitt sped out to the drowning family members in jet skis. They took the family safely to shore.

And most recently, the Benghazi attack and aftermath appears to be a clear case study of incompetence on the part of the Obama administration. Recent revelations include, but are not limited to, the following (You can refer to my previous posts. I've written about this scandal extensively in the last months):

  • Personnel on the ground requested more security on at least 3 occasions prior to 9/11, but were rejected (The consulate grounds were the target of previous attacks in the months before the 9/11 attack).
  • It was reported by Fox News in Friday that two urgent requests for assistance DURING the attack were denied.
These most recent reports clearly show the security personnel on the ground were left defenseless. And a case can be made that they were also abandoned.

Allow me to review data and facts that I believe make my case for Romney and against Pres. Obama Stronger

  • Most Americans already know about the high unemployment rate, but do they know that almost 5 million people are now considered long-term unemployed?
