The Hypocrisy Of The Armed Political Left; How Incompetent Is Our Government?; Where's The Bloviating Left Now?; Job Growth Up 23%---In Cuba; RIP General Norman Schwarzkopf

Intern Just Happens To Be A Beautiful 22-Year Old Woman...The Onion

  • Regarding the debate on gun control, one clear fact has emerged: Many on the political Left---who are vocally opposed to American owning legal firearms-- are also armed. For example, let's just look at recent news.  Michael Moore, the big, fat bloviating prick of the Left, has long been opposed to gun ownership. Two weeks ago, his personal bodyguard was arrested for carrying an UNLICENSED firearm at JFK airport. The fact is many on the Left either carry concealed themselves, have armed security personnel or live behind fortresses. In many cases, they have all three. In other words, the biggest hypocrites in this gun debate are on the Left not on the Right.

  • Earlier this week, we reported on the debate regarding armed guards or security personnel in schools. Again, many on the Left (and some conservatives) oppose having armed security in our schools even though 23,000 schools already do so. In fact, Utah has allowed teachers to carry concealed weapons on K-12 campuses for over 12 years without an incident (USA Today). Former Pres. Clinton himself proposed a national program called, "COPS in Schools." A well-trained armed person can act as a deterrent. If that's not true, then why do we have police officers patrolling our streets or armed security in banks? We protect our money. Why don't we protect our children?
  • If there is any evidence of the incompetence of our government, the fact that they wait to the 11th hour to try to reconcile the fiscal cliff mess is just one glaring example. Think about it. The consequences of whatever decisions are made will directly affect almost every single American. And, as I write this, reports are that expectations are "low" for any deal.
  • Don't look now but there's another fiscal cliff looming. The International Longshoreman's Union is threatening a strike this weekend. These are dockworkers who work with national and international cargo.  In 2002, when the union struck the West Coast, the losses to the economy were $1B per day. This strike is targeting the East Coast.  Total goods handled in 2011 where the current strike is targeting: $208B. NY Post
  • When Pres. George W. Bush started the warrantless surveillance program in response to 9/11, the Left wanted him impeached. Today, Congress extended that law.
  • There is some good economic news. Private sector jobs have increased 23% in 2012. But there's just one caveat to this good news. The job growth occurred in Cuba. How did they do it? The cut spending. Reuters News

How Going Over The Fiscal Cliff Will Directly Affect You; Benghazi Whitewash Continues; Gun Laws Should Come Down Hard On David Gregory: Karma Should Step In

Tim Tebow Put Empty Gatorade Cups In Wildcat Formation On Jets Bench...The Onion Sports

  • So if the country does plunge over the Fiscal Cliff, how will that directly affect you?  To see that, check the graph above. (Courtesy Tax Foundation). The burst of taxes include tax rates on capital gains going from 15 to 20%.  The Child Tax Credit would be be cut from $1,000 to $500.  Inheritance Tax would go from the current 35% (on estates over $5M) to 55% on estates over $1 million (this alone will force many farmers to go out of business). The payroll-tax cut would expire from the current 4.2% to 6.2%.
  • But don't just obsess about those numbers. In addition to those taxes, ObamaCare's taxes also kick in. In other words, ObamaCare taxes have nothing to do with the taxes associated with the country leaping into the fiscal abyss.
  • Don't look now but we will hit the debt limit of $16.4T on Dec. 31.
  • Why did Pres. Obama cut his Hawaiian vacation short? He wants to be viewed as the savior on the white horse coming in to save the Republic. It's all political. It's all about him.
  • As reported yesterday, the skunks in State who were responsible for the Benghazi debacle were not fired. Instead they just received an extended Christmas vacation. That leaves only Amb. Stevens and the 3 other American heroes who lost their jobs and their lives. The Benghazi whitewash continues.

  • On top of that, Hillary Clinton has still not testified. The Benghazi report clearly showed that all the assertions made by the administration and State were false. That leaves Hillary who has a lot of questions that need to be answered. For example, what did she know and when did she know it? Was she and the White House aware of the security needs on the ground (Amb. Stevens sent many cables to Washington expressing a need for more security)? And why did State and the administration come up with those bogus stories when they already knew what really happened?
  • Regarding the debate over The Journal News disclosing the names and locations of those holding gun permits, you need to know the reporter who wrote that story is a licensed gun owner.

White House & Congressional Incompetence On Display: Fiscal Cliff; ObamaCare Taxes Kick In On New Year's Day; Bogus Benghazii Penalties; Bill Clinton Proposed "Cops in Schools"

When Pres. Obama announced he would give federal employees off for Christmas Eve,  Joe Biden heard that and he was like, "But not Santa, right?"...Fallon

  • I'm as sick and tired of reading and hearing about the fiscal cliff negotiations as most Americans. Nevertheless, we are all witnessing---once again---the height of White House and Congressional incompetence.  The fact is they brought this mess upon themselves. They kept kicking the can down the road and now there's no road left. Depending on income and marriage status, Americans will be paying an additional $2,000 to $55,000 a year in taxes.
  • While there is still a possibility some deal will be struck, we will still be left with ObamaCare taxes kicking in on New Year's Day. On the first day of 2013, a 3.8% surtax on investment income above $200 grand or for married couples above $250,000. There will also be a cap on Flexible Spending Accounts for medical expenses. In addition, a Medicare payroll tax of 0.9% on wage income over those numbers indicated above. There will also be a 2/3% sales tax on medical devices used by hospitals.
  • And it's clear, regardless of what happens, spending will still continue. Congress can't even control their own office budgets according to USA Today. And who are the biggest spenders? A majority are Democrats. Gee, what a friggin surprise.

  • If you recall, after the Benghazi report last week that proved beyond the shadow of a doubt the incompetence of the administration and State Department, several State Department officials were disciplined. In fact, it was reported they were to be fired. Well, they weren't. One was reassigned. Three others are on "administrative" leave and are expected to return to work.  In other words, we were handed more lies by this administration. NY Post
  • We keep hearing the refrain that guns don't kill people, people do. I happen to believe that. It's why I believe we should just ban people.
  • In fact, as many know, Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation yet some of the highest crime rates including murder. CBS in Chicago is reporting there were 14 shot over Christmas and Christmas Eve. One person died.

The Left's Conspicuous Hypocrisy About Gun Ownership: They Have Armed Protection But Don't Want The Rest Of Us To Have It; John F. Kerry Maligned An Entire Generation Of Veterans; Progressives Blind To Their Own Racism

New Study Finds Americans Need 6 Hours Of Sleep At Work...The Onion

  • A classic example of those opposed to responsible gun ownership (largely those on the Left) is conspicuous with a presstitute like David Gregory of Meet the Press. He's another presstitute nitwit who railed against schools having well-trained armed security personnel,  yet he sends his own children to a well-protected school. The school his children attend (Sidwell Friends)  has 11 security personnel, some armed and some of whom are police officers. In addition, it's the same school Pres. Obama sends his own children too. So guess what other armed security personnel happen to be at Gregory's school? Yep, you guessed it: well armed and well trained Secret Service agents. Weekly Standard/WaPo
  • In short, the anti-gun activists want others to believe when you want your children to be safe from gun violence with well-trained armed security present, you must be nuts.
  • Fortunately, there are many areas in the country that don't feel the same way. For example, NYC has over 5000 unarmed security personnel in their schools. The NYPD also has over 350 police officers assigned to patrol the city's school campuses.  And just last week, Marlboro, NJ, authorized police officers in every one of their schools. NY Post
  • The cost of placing armed police officers in every school in the nation would be about $5B a year. The cost of foreign aid each year: anywhere from $50-60B a year. I'd say that $5B would be a damn good investment in trying to keep our children safer in schools.
  • We have armed guards in banks to guard our money. There are many pharmacies who use armed guards. Airports have armed personnel as do bus and train stations.  We have police officers on the street to help keep us safe. Some malls have armed guards. Yet, there are Americans who don't want armed personnel in our schools to protect our children? God help us.
  • Most rational Americans know the value of owning legal guns as evidenced by the number of Americans joining the NRA every day in the last two weeks: 8000 per day. Breitbart
  • As one Tweeter correctly pointed out yesterday, "Not one mass shooting has ever been stopped by a citizen carrying The New York Times."
  • The fact is it too logical to propose well trained, armed security personnel in our schools.
