Modern Day Robin Hood Living In Woods Shooting Rich People With Arrows...The Onion

- As Pres. Obama resumes his Hawaiian vacation, unemployment shot up to 7.8%. In addition, first time unemployment filers also spiked this week. Unemployment also rose sharply for women (7.3% from 7.0%) and for blacks (13.2 to 14%). Interesting considering this is the demographic that largely voted for Pres. Obama in November.
- Yet, with all of this going on, the administration and Congress keep flipping us the bird. If you recall, the Senate passed the unpopular ObamaCare on Christmas Eve of 2010. Now we found out the Senate passed their version of the fiscal cliff bill in less than 3 minutes at about 1:30 in the morning. The debt ceiling battle is also upon us, but it's been an issue for decades. And like they did with the fiscal cliff bill, they will most likely wait until the last minute to tackle the debt ceiling. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said it best this week, "Something has gone terribly wrong when the biggest threat to our American economy is the American Congress."
- According to White House Dossier, the Obama's vacations to Hawaii have cost American taxpayers over $20M in the last four years.
- And, as I wrote yesterday, the political class is irresponsible, incompetent and irrational.
- Business person on ObamaCare: "It now costs significantly more to hire someone---guess what? It will hire less. It's not rocket science."
- Good news from some local politicos. Putnam County NY officials refused to give the Journal News Media Group information regarding those who have legal gun permits. Putnam officials: "This is not about defending the issue of gun ownership in the aftermath of Newtown; this issue is strictly about the privacy and safety of our law-abiding citizens."
- Yesterday, The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Obama administration still does not include women when they have their high level staff meeting.
"Bush blamed for Katrina failures. Republican Congress blamed for Hurricane Sandy problems. Obama vacations in Hawaii." Tweet, S. Fricks

- The Tweet above tells you all you need to know about Washington D.C. these days (include the presstitute media too). But, of course, it goes much deeper than that.
- Today there is no such thing as politically rational behavior. If there was, they wouldn't wait to the last minute to attempt of solve some very serious fiscal problems (of course, they did not considering nothing was done about the unsustainable and mounting debt and the inexcusable deficits). In fact, less than 2 years after Pres. Obama was granted his wish to raise the debt limit, we've gone thru over $2T breaching a new ceiling (Democrats view that as good fiscal management and restraint).
- So what's in store for the country "down the road"---you know, where they continue kicking the can? Another battle will ensue over the debt ceiling and sequestration cuts. In other words, we're going to run out of money...again (we already have years ago, but we just love the ride, don't we?).
- And remember, this great fiscal cliff deal we got yesterday will raise a "whopping" $620B over 10 years. We've had over $1T deficits in the last 4 years. You do the math.
- And while the Democrats won't admit it, one of the winners yesterday was a guy in Texas. A majority of Democrats supported keeping Bush tax cuts.
- The presstitute media would have us believe it was the Republicans holding the country hostage these past few months when it was the Democrats. As Jonathan Tobin of Commentary pointed out so well today: "...this time it was the Democrats who were the ones with the gun to the heads of the nation. It was either vote for a tax increase for some and no spending cuts or see middle-class America pay a terrible price." That's it in a nutshell.

F%#K Everything, Nation Reports...The Onion

- Today, we will be hearing a lot of crap about this hideous fiscal cliff deal. The fact is the deal sucks, and most reasonable observers know it. Just ponder the highlights of this hideous piece of garbage: It does nothing to bring down the debt or deficit, nothing. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office reported this bill will add almost $4T to the deficit over the next decade. This means this deal can carry a huge risk of hurting the economy even more. It raises $620B, a dime but only only cuts $15B in spending. In addition, it raises taxes on almost 80% of Americans---and that does not even include the taxes and fees associated with ObamaCare.
- Other specifics included capital gains taxes going up from 15-20% on those with incomes from $400-450K; the Alternative Minimum Tax was indexed and that would be permanent, tax credits would remain (Child, earned income, etc) and the 27% cut in Medicare is now history for one year. Spending cuts would be delayed for 2 months.
New Apple Campaign Urges Consumers To Buy IPhone For Other Hand...The Onion

- What to make of the Senate's interim Fiscal Cliff deal? Too early to tell right now. But we do know this. The Senate's version will do nothing to address the deficit or the debt. In fact, the deal means for every $41 in tax increases the government will cut spending by $1 (Breitbart). The thresholds have been raised to $400K for single income earners and $450K for married couples. In addition, the 27% cuts in fees to physicians for Medicare was slashed. The inheritance tax hike will go from 35% to 40% instead of to 55% on estates worth more than $5 million. And they included preserving the earned-income credit, child tax credit for another 5 years. Unemployment benefits will be extended through 2013. The House will be meeting on the Senate bill at 1 p.m. today.
- Be prepared for the Presstitute media to hail Obama and Slo Joe Biden heroes in the coming days.
- A new report on the Benghazi attack was released yesterday. Called the "Flashing Red: A Special Report on the Terrorist Attack at Benghazi," it found the State Department made a "grievous mistake" by ignoring warning signs regarding the lack of security at the consulate. Yet, as of today, no one has been fired for all the incompetence associated with this tragedy.
- One thing is certain. The entire Benghazi episode appears to be a string of lies and coverups. As one observer remarked: "It's the lie that keeps on giving."
- Starting today, states will be hit with 400 new laws. Happy New Year!
- How did one of the strictest gun control cities in America celebrate 2013? Chicago had at least 9 early morning shootings.

Man Has Such Good Friends They'll Let Him Drink Himself to Death Right Before Their Eyes...The Onion

- So if our yo-yo congress men and women fail to reach an agreement on the "fiscal cliff" negotiations, what can you expect? For one, Bush tax cuts will expire immediately resulting in an average increase of over $1,000 per household. Estate taxes jump from 35 to 55% on $1 million or more. As many as 27 million Americans will be affected by the Alternative Minimum Tax. $75 Billion worth of business tax breaks expire. Social Security payroll tax jumps from 4.2 to 6.2%. Payments to Medicare providers are immediately cut by 27%. Over 2 million stop getting unemployment relief.
- Yesterday "Negotiations crumbled...when Harry Reid declined to respond to McConnel's latest counteroffer..." USA Today
- Everything, including the federal budget, languishes in the Senate because of Harry Reid. Ideas die in the Senate.
- But then again---they might reach some type of agreement. But remember, half of the country voted for this nonsense. Forbes, NY Post
- Regardless of what happens, the Obama administration will still borrow 40 cents of every dollar or over $4B each day. In addition, many ObamaCare taxes also kick in.
- Regarding ObamaCare, a piece in USA Today reported that employers will be doing less hiring in 2013 because of the law. Under the law, employers with over 50 employees will be required to provide health insurance to staff. In response, they plan on trimming full-timers. Employers who fail to do so will be hit with a $2000 fine per employees, exluding the first 30 employees.
- The fact is the country went over the fiscal cliff the day Pres. Obama was elected.
