Palestinians And Israelis Come Together To Mock Obama's Hopelessly Naive Speech...The Onion

- Perhaps it's just in their DNA. How can one account for the political class continuously ripping off American taxpayers? As the Obama administration warns us about the dire consequences of sequester, it's reported Slo Joe Biden's hotel room in Paris cost $585,000 for ONE NIGHT in Paris. Hey, but he got a much better deal in London in January. That bill only came to $460,000. This week Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz , one of the many knuckleheads in Congress, complained---because of the sequester---her $60-$160,000 salaried staff can't afford the food prices in the House cafeteria. They can't afford $2 bowls of soup or $5 sandwiches. Folks, like Seinfeld, we're living in a Bizarro world. Dept of State and Breitbart
- Gee, what a surprise! The Pentagon announced it is delaying its furlough notices to staff by at least two week. Yet, the government announced the sequestration cuts will hit Native American schools the hardest. As I wrote last week, the sequestration cuts are only hurting the poor, the middle class and our troops.
- Pew Research is now reporting that Obama is less popular in the Middle East than Bush. Obama's approval is now a pathetic 15% in the Middle East.
- As you know, if you read this blog regularly, I often warn against progressives whether they be Republicans or Democrats. The Congressional Progressive Caucus---the socialists in our government---released a version of their own budget. They want taxes increased on the rich to 49%. And, when you die, they want estate taxes to be 65%. In addition, they want another $2.2T to be spent on the environment, welfare and technology. NY Post

Justin Bieber announced he is growing a mustache. He's going to publish the finished result on Twitter assuming Twitter exists in 2050...Ferguson
- Perhaps no better metaphor for the prospects of peace in the Middle East was expressed by two events yesterday as Pres. Obama visits Israel. The president's $300 grand limo broke down (apparently some yo-yo filled the beast up with diesel rather than gasoline). It had to be hauled away.
- The other event was more enlightening. Hamas decided to rain five rockets from Gaza into Israel. Fortunately no causalities were reported.
- Since 2001, Israel has been hit with over 10,000 rocket attacks, almost 5000 mortar attacks resulting in over 60 deaths and 2000 injuries. A majority of these attacks originated from Gaza. Wikipedia
- Since 9/11, there have been 20,569 jihad attacks worldwide, 38 in the last two weeks alone resulting in 156 dead and 417 critically injured. The Religion of Peace.com
Authorities On Alert As Hundreds Of Crazed Sociopaths Enter Congressional Chambers...The Onion with photo of congressmen and women on House front steps.

- It's no secret that Harry Reid is a first-class prick. But he's even worse than that. Yesterday, he was on the Senate floor referring to the 7 Marines that died in a training accident this week. And then he went on to blame their deaths on the budget cuts {sequestration}. In other words, he used their deaths for purely political reasons. As Mark Levin so aptly stated, "It {Reid's comment) was grotesque."
- And it's not the first time this fool made more of a fool of himself. In 2009, before the successful surge in Iraq, he declared the "war is lost." For those living in Nevada, why do you keep electing this lunatic?
- By the way, the president spent more time on his NCAA brackets than he did on the deaths of our 7 Marines.
- There will be no assault weapons ban in the new gun control bill. The Senate does not have the necessary votes to pass such a ban. According to reports, there were less than 40 votes in support of Sen. Feinsteins's bill. Libery won this round.
- As reported earlier this week, Mayor Bloomberg wants all tobacco products hidden from view in stores. I have a suggestion for this genius. Why don't you just ban everything? Too much red meat is bad for us. So hide it from view. Sweets can lead to diabetes. So hide all the candy, cakes, cookies, etc. from our view. This is a classic example of the government wanting an inch but will always try to take a yard. But what's even scarier---there are people that agree with this insanity and having the government steal more of our liberties.

- Taxes? What stinkin' taxes? We don't need your taxes. We'll just take your hard earned money out of your bank savings account. And that's exactly the plan promoted by Cyprus and its socialist Euro partners. The intent of those thieving governments is to seize up to 10% of the people's savings. In other words, they plan to raid bank accounts as part of a $15.8B euro ($20.4B) financial bailout. This precedent is clear: their money in every Euro bank is not safe. Can it happen here? Who knows? I doubt it but one never knows.
- Gov. Cuomo of New York State made a similar promise as did Bush 41. Cuomo said, "No new taxes. Period." He then went on to raise taxes on the wealthy in 2011.
- The latest news is that a Russian energy company is offering to bail Cyprus out in exchange for gas exploration rights. Hey, has anyone from America spoken to the Ruskies? Perhaps they can help bail us out for granting them gas exploration rights. Yo, just askin'.

- Pew Research reported that MSNBC only spends 15% of its time on actual FACTUAL REPORTING. It spends 85% of its time on commentary and opinion. Fox spends 45% on factual reporting and 55% on commentary and opinion. CNN spends 54% of its time on factual reporting as opposed to 46% on commentary and opinion.
- Now Mayor Bloomberg wants to make sure cigarettes and other tobacco products are hidden from view including in your local store. This is the same Bloomberg whose city has a high school graduation rate of 66%. This is also the same Bloomberg who---during his tenure as mayor of NYC---doubled the city's debt load from $55B to over $110B now. And small bodega owners are concerned this plan will hurt their business. Some predict it could hurt up to 90% of their tobacco sales. In other words, the small business man and woman will be hurt by this. Craine's NY Business/NY Post
- We've heard many reports recently of TSA blunders but this one takes the cake. It was reported yesterday that TSA agents humiliated a Marine. But there's more to the story. The Marine lost his legs due to an IED. They made him REMOVE his prosthetic legs at one point and also stand to inspect his wheelchair. Yo TSA: you ever hear the term: situational awareness, you putzes? Fox News
Opposition To Soda Ban Sad Proof That Americans Still Fight For What They Believe In...The Onion
"The trouble with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." Attributed to Margaret Thatcher
There's a lot of debating going on within the Republican Party regarding the future of the party (Full disclosure. I am not a Republican. Never have been. I define myself as an Independent Reagan Conservative. And yes, Republicans should still pay me mind). The irony is all Republicans need to do is to pursue core conservative principles. Most rational people believe in many of these same core values. Some of these include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Don't bend on the Constitution. Stick to the "originalist" theory of constitutional interpretation. When progressives + liberals try to develop "new" and "evolving" constitutional powers---fight back.
- As defined by the Bill of Rights, a strong conviction to uphold our rights as citizens of this great Republic. Liberty is not granted by our government. It's in inherent right.
- Limited government is the answer not government overreaching into every aspect of our lives. We must always be suspicious of centralized power. We are currently seeing this with the debate over the Second Amendment. Continue to make sure our food is safe. Ensure our medications are safe. Ensure our highways are safe and well maintained. But beyond these and several others, keep everything else local, e.g. within the states.
- National security must be a national priority. In fact, according to our Founding Fathers, it must the primary obligation for this government.
- Continued support of a strong military.
- Support the free enterprise system and economic liberty. This includes limiting regulations not expanding them. In the last 90 days, the government posted over 6000 NEW regulations. Regulations.gov
- A strong belief that America is exceptional.
- Continue pursuing lowering of taxes, cutting down on spending and waste and fraud in spending and make it clear addressing the nation's debt is a priority as is a balanced budget. In other words, restore fiscal responsibility.
- There is a path to citizenship: it's called legal immigration. Uphold those laws. Enforce border security and tighten up visa application process.
