U.S. Economy Grew At A Pathetic 0.4%: Weakest Performance in Two Years; How Bad Are Those Pension Liabilties?; Federal Employees Owe $3.5B in Back Taxes; Guess What Cities Are Dead Last In Prosecuting Gun Crimes?; Snail Sex?

Anderson Cooper Throws Another Box Of Letters From Gay Children Into The Dumpster...The Onion

  • At the risk of repeating myself (but I will), the economy is still in the toilet contrary to what the administration, Democrats and their presstitutes enablers have been telling us. The economy grew at an anemic 0.4% at the end of last year. It was the economy's WEAKEST performance in two years. Sky News
  • In addition, first time unemployment claims jumped by 16,000 to 357,000 last week. Labor Department
  • The administration can't blame the sequester on these pathetic numbers since the impact has not fully kicked in yet.
  • If you want some idea how bad the pension liabilities are for some states, all you need to do is look at one of many. New York State's is currently estimated to be $5.5 billion.  For the pension program to be adequately funded, the Dow Jones Average would have to be about 26,000 (it's now just over 14K and it took us 5 years to get back up to that number from 2007).
  • We discuss government waste and fraud a lot as little is being done about it. For example, the Government Accountability Office just reported that fraud in Medicare alone is about $17 billion a year;
  • You might recall a report came out several weeks ago that the feds spent millions on a study to determine why many lesbians are fat. Another report came out the feds also spent $1.8 million on puppets. I kid you not. Breitbart

Another Study: ObamaCare Costs For Individuals to Rise Up To 80% in Some States; Sequestration's Pain is Calculated; More Americans Moving to Red States

Kim Jong-Un Comes Out In Support Of Gay Marriage: "I Am Not A Monster."...The Onion

  • It appears a week does not go by that we don't see yet another report regarding the negative impact of ObamaCare on the public especially when it comes to cost. Last week, a report from several congressional committees reported premiums could increase by 200% on many Americans (the young will be impacted the most because insurers will be forced to charge young, healthy people more to cover the cost of insuring older Americans). The Congressional Budget Office and several other non-partisan groups came to similar conclusions. And yesterday, we received even more bad news. The Society of Actuaries reported insurance companies will have to pay out an average of 32% more for medical claims on individual health policies under ObamaCare. And to add insult to injury several states will experience costs to increase over 80% (Ohio, Wisconsin, California and Maryland). Several states will see a decrease (mostly in New England but decreases will be minor about 2% to 13%).

Second Amendment is Winning; Supremes to Take Up Same-Sex Marriage; Nixon Must Be Wondering: What Did I Do Wrong?

"This is a pointless trip," Obama says while shaking hands with Netanyahu...The Onion

  • Immediately following the tragedy at Newtown, Conn., the gun control activists came out in full force to, once again, attack the Second Amendment. It appears the Second Amendment is holding its own very well (as the Founding Fathers intended). And just last week, the feckless prick, Sen. Harry Reid, announced the assault weapons ban would not be part of any gun control bill. Today, a new CBS poll shows that support for stricter gun control measures tanked in the last several months. Right after Newtown, support for stricter gun control came in at 57%. It stands at 47% today.
  • In fact, the American people would rather Congress and local authorities rely more on greater police presence in our schools and better mental health screening. In addition, 47% of Americans want more studies on the impact of violent video games and violence in movies and on TV. (Recent Gallup Poll). Background checks are still on the front burner, but it's difficult to predict the outcome of such legislation.

  • One question remains. Why is the government buying so much ammo? In fact, with the government purchasing such large quantities of ammo and the surge in ammo sales, ammunition is becoming less scarce. Thus far, the government has not responded to questions about the large ammo purchases. To put it in perspective, according to report, DHS has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mostly .40 cal and 9mm. That would be enough ammo to fight in Iraq for 24 more years based on military use of ammo annually. Conspiracy buffs point to the government using less availability of ammo for firearms as a back-door way of restricting guns. I think it's too early to jump to that conclusion, but it's one conspiracy theory that is certainly intriguing.
  • The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on California's Proposition 8. In addition, it will also hear a related case involving the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Once again, I believe the preference of most Americans is decisions on same-sex marriage should be left to the states. At least, that's where I stand.

The Fairy Tale That Is Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is putting on a litte weight. She'd better be careful. If she gains ten more pounds, Bill's going to start hitting on her...Letterman

  • As Democrats, progressives and much of the presstitute media continue to drive the fairy tale and myth surrounding Hillary Clinton's accomplishments, the question arises: will it work if she decides to run in 2016? If her tenures as Senator of NY State (2001-2009) and most recently as Secretary of State are any indication, no rational voter should give her any consideration (but we know millions will).
  • For example, last month, Trudy Rubin of the Philadelphia Inquirer (a prominent progressive rag) even had to admit, "Clinton produced no diplomatic breakthroughs nor any new strategic doctrine...She has no major foreign policy success."

  • Jennifer Rubin, one of the only conservatives on the staff of the Washington Post, posed this question about Hillary in her piece this weekend: "Where is the record of accomplishment, let alone greatness." Rubin also points out the the Benghazi attack took place on her watch when we had a U.S. Ambassador killed, the first one in the last three decades. And who can forget her memorable testimony regarding the attack on Benghazi when she proclaimed, "What difference does it make?" (Bear in mind, two non-partisan commissions found the State Department was riddled with systemic failures regarding Benghazi including a failure in leadership).
  • And it's becoming more apparent---as each day goes by--- that her work in the Middle East was a failure. The Muslim Brotherhood is now in control of Egypt. In fact, just this past weekend, Pres. Morsi of Egypt (a member of the Muslim Brotherhood himself) warned Egyptians, "Let us not be dragged into an area where I will take a harsh decision" in response to opposition protesters. Also this weekend, the head of Syria's Western-backed opposition to President Assad, resigned. He was the head of the coalition we hoped would emerge as the most credible body to channel aid to the anti-government forces.  Of course, we also continue to face the challenges from Iran and N. Korea.

  • Her tenure as NY State Senator was also not that impressive. In fact, Gov.track.us points out her record of accomplishments were trifling (most of the bills she had passed were largely symbolic such as naming post offices and court houses). In addition, she missed almost 10% of her votes (the average is 2% among senators).
  • So as we approach 2016, watch how cleverly the presstitutes in the media (including Hollywood) will start conceiving the fairly tale regarding Hillary's legacy.

Postscript: Since this post was written, virtually every outing she's had, e.g. book release, conferences and speeches have proven to be a total disaster. In addition, her personal email system is now under scrutiny as well as fundraising for the Clinton Foundation, suspicious finances and conspicuous greed. Deroy Murdock reported no less than six donors and board members of the Foundation have shady backgrounds and criminal convictions. (NY Post) All of this on the heels of Travelgate, missing Rose Law Firm records, and countless more scandals. In addition, most recent reports show she did have classified material on her server when she claimed she did not.
