China Announces Plans To Build International Space Prison...The Onion

- To give you some idea how petty and malicious Democrats can be, last night they blocked a resolution to honor Margaret Thatcher. The question that should be asked---regardless of your opinion of Thatcher---why hesitate to honor a foreign politician who was one of our greatest allies? Why hesitate to honor such a historical figure, and one who had such wide-ranging global influence particularly during the Cold War? Perhaps it's because the Left (Progressives code for Socialists) just can't get over the fact that Thatcher and Reagan were largely responsible for destroying Communism. Hey, just sayin'.
- It should be no surprise to anyone that the administration's Middle East foreign policy is in tatters (much of the blame should go to Hillary Clinton as I wrote in an early piece entitled, "The Fairy Tale That Is Hillary Clinton."). And if you need any more evidence, all you need to do is read one headline today. It's from USA Today: "Syrian Rebels Pledge Loyalty To al-Qaeda's Leader."
A Universal Background Check Will Never Lead To A Gun Registry Data Base, Because If You Like Your Health Insurance Plan, You Can Keep It...Tweet by Rick Wilson

- I've often written that the bias in the media is not always about what said or written, it's also about what news is withheld or censored. Nowhere has this been in more evidence than with the recent case of abortion physician Kermit Gosnell in Philadelphia. Many in the nation might not even recognize that name, but they should considering in his clinic authorities found severed baby feet in jars and more.
- Dr. Gosnell (and I use his title loosely) has been accused of killing at least seven newborns and a young women at a Philadelphia clinic. He's also an abortionist.
- According to authorities in Philadelphia (Philadelphis news agencies have reported on this scumbag), former employees said Gosnell snipped the spinal cords of babies. Another former employee testified that Gosnell taught her his "snipping" technique to use on infants who were born ALIVE. As Kirsten Powers, a USA Today contributor and Fox political analyst pointed out, the story here should be about butchering babies that were already born and were older than the state's 24-week limit for abortions. Yet, the network coverage of these horrors has been conspicuous by its absence. To date, there has been only one brief report on CNN. And Powers also points out that a Lexis-Nexis search shows NONE of the news shows on the three major television networks has even mentioned the case. So accusations of babies having their heads cut off does not make the news. Yet, when Rush Limbaugh criticized Sandra Fluke, it was wall-to-wall coverage on all networks. In addition, networks report on abortion restrictions on a regular basis. As the Washington Times pointed out, the story of the Rutger's coach received more news coverage than did Gosnell. In fact, Kim Kardashian's ass gets more news coverage than Gosnell.
- So what can we conclude from the lack of reporting on these alleged murders? I don't care if you are pro-choice or pro-life. This is clearly a human rights issue. Unfortunately, It's clearly obvious that network political ideology trumps covering the slaughter of babies or let's call it what it is: infanticide.
- The broken promises by Mr. Obama about health insurance continue. If you recall, the president promised you will be able to keep your current health insurance. We now know that is not true. In fact, USA Today reported the number of Americans without health insurance has increased. In addition, the cost of insurance continues to increase.

Kim Jong-Un Wonders If Nuclear Threats Distracting Him From Real Goal Of Starving Citizenry...The Onion

- I know for many---especially on the Left---any discussion by a white guy of black-on- black crime is tantamount to racism. So let me put my cards on the table. I'm not one of those guys who will tell you my best friends are black. I can't. Because one of them died last year (he was also a fraternity brother). Another died several years earlier. I do live in an integrated community, but it's mostly white. The border of Chester, PA, is still 50 yards from my front lawn ( The black population of Chester today is almost 75%). Prior to that, I lived less than 1/4 mile from Camden, N.J. I also grew up in the Bronx, NY. Over 90% of my friends were either black or Hispanic. But, hey, that was a lifetime ago. Why even mention it? My bad. Oh, I did live on the border of Detroit for three years. But I only went into the city on business about 2-4 days a week not seven.
- So does my lifetime living in or being associated with the black community give me some street cred on my opinion of black-on-black crime? If you're a progressive, I don't really give a rat's ass what you think considering most of you white progressives never set foot in a black community anyway. If you are a reasonable person, I'll give it a shot.

- Back to my initial question: When will black and white leadership step up to addressing black-on-black crime? (It's done occasionally. And communities gather around have their usual candlelight vigils after someone gets murdered until the next murder. The only people benefiting are those making candles and selling flowers. Oh, don't forget those selling cute little stuffed animals). It's no secret to anyone---it's a major problem that should have been addressed decades ago. But the following data prompted me to ask that question again: In 2012, in NYC alone, there were 419 murders (actually an incredibly low number considering the population of the city is over 8 million. By comparison, Chicago has a population of about 2.7 million. In 2012, the city had over 500 murders. Of those, 62 were school aged children). Astonishingly 60% of those murdered NYC were African-American. African-Americans make up 23% of the population. By contrast, 9% of those murdered where white. That's 38 people out of a total white population of almost 4 million. These statistics are mirrored in many other major cities today. In fact, in some cases, the incidence of black-on-black crime is higher as evidenced in a city like Chicago.

- So where is the outrage? We witness outrage when there is a mass killing like one in Newtown. In fact, Pres. Obama continues to use those dead children as a back-drop to his advocating for gun restrictions. Yet, he rarely talks about black-on-black crime. But where was the outrage when 41 people---mostly black---were shot in one weekend in Chicago in March of 2012? Where was the outrage especially from the black community? A few voices were heard but the usual fake, phony and frauds---like Sharpton and others---were conspicuous by their absence.
- And white leadership should also not get a pass. These crimes affect everyone to some degree regardless of race. For example, we know higher incidence of this type of crime has a detrimental affect on tourism for many major cities. On some occasions, we even witness innocent bystanders being either hurt or killed by crossfire. This year alone several children were killed by crossfire.
John Kerry Lost Somewhere In The Gobi Desert...The Onion
- The reactions to the death of former British PM Margaret Thatcher today are predictable. Even in death, progressives bash her (as they did to Ronald Reagan upon his death). Conservatives, on the other hand, recognize her great achievements. On a personal level, my family owes a lot to the Iron Lady. Unfortunately, my family lived under two dictatorships. They had to live through the murderous and brutal Nazi regime in Poland during WWII. In fact, the Nazis killed about 1/3 of my family. After the Nazis were defeated, they were forced to live under Communism. Regarding the Nazis, I only know what my family told me and what I've read and seen from a historical perspective (although I did visit Auschwitz in 1988, and I was not the same person leaving that infamous slaughterhouse as I was upon entering it).

- But I know, first hand, what it was like living under Communism. It was Thatcher's collaboration with Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II and Lech Welesa that put a stake in the heart of Communism in Eastern Europe. And for that alone, she gets my eternal thanks.
- And how can one forget some of the great Thatcherisms: "If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman." "I'm extraordianarily patient, as long as I get my own way." "If my critics saw me walking over the Thames, they would say it's because I couldn't swim."
- After the pathetic economic numbers were published last week, there was some irony. The number of people in the workforce is now the lowest since 1979. That was the same year Jimmy Carter gave his now infamous "malaise" speech to the American people.
