Will A John Dean Emerge From This Administration's Many Scandals?

Biden Investigated For Questionable Workers' Comp Claim...The Onion

In 1970, John Dean III was the White House Counsel for Pres. Nixon. He was also deeply involved in the Watergate scandal. Subsequently he pleased guilty to a felony count in exchange for becoming a witness for the prosecution. He became the first administration official to accuse Nixon of direct involvement in Watergate.

Will a John Dean emerge from this administration's many scandals? We know of the following scandals to date:

  • The attack on our consulate in Benghazi. We now know that CIA talking points were changed (those initially referring to the attack being a terrorist attack. Instead, we were told the attack was "spontaneous" and a reaction to an anti-Muslim video that almost no one viewed). We also know that additional security was requested on many occasions prior to the 9/11/12 attack but was denied. We know military and security assets that could have assisted our security personnel under attack were ordered to "stand down." We do not know who gave the orders to "stand down." We still do not know where Pres. Obama was during most of that day and evening. Note: The State Department released a report this week that there were 11 terrorist attacks in Benghazi prior to the attack on our consulate.

  • The IRS targeting of conservatives and conservative groups. We now know that over 300 conservative groups were targeted by the IRS. We do not know who ordered the targeting. The acting IRS commissioner essentially said he knew nothing. Lois Lerner, the IRS official in charge of reviewing exempt organizations, pleaded the 5th at her congressional hearing.
  • The Department of Justice (under Eric Holder) targeting the press. The DOJ monitored phone records, cell phone records and emails of AP and Fox News reporters (at least that's what we know now). Holder did testify that going after the press "is not something I've ever been involved in." Yet, he personally approved the subpoena for Fox News reporter James Rosen's phone records. Perjury? Perhaps.

The Answer To America's Prosperity? Texas; MSNBC's Ratings In The Toilet; Some Main Stream Media Might Finally Be Turning Away From The Obama Adminisration

"Biggest Scandals Of The Obama Administration" #1: Obama Born...The Onion

Could Texas be the answer to America's property? Perhaps if the Obama administration followed the state's template, we wouldn't be in this mess. Let's review why as reported by the BBC:
  • Five of the fastest growing cities in America were in Texas from 2011-2012.
  • Four of the top ten metropolitan areas in the country for job growth in 2013 were in Texas.
  • Texas has a lower standard of living and that also includes housing.
  • Low taxes. In fact, Texas is one of seven states that has no personal state income tax.
  • Texas is family friendly. How friendly?  San Antonio is even home to the largest community of GAY parents. Schools are rated average and above average in many areas, e.g. 8th grade math.
  • Texas has fewer rules and regulations.

As I often do, I take quite a few shots at the media---for obvious reasons. MSNBC's current pathetic ratings reinforce my claims. Consider this. For the month of May, when we had (have) reports of one government scandal after another and terrorist attacks, MSNBC suffered double-digit drops in May. These numbers portray a network in deep sh!t. And what else can viewers expect when a major network has a whining, race-baiting prick like Al Sharpton? From the Hollywood Reporter today:

  • In the most important demographic---25 to 54---they averaged a "whopping" 175,000 viewers. More people walk through the Magic Kingdom at Disney World in 3 days.
  • Their overall average is ALMOST a whopping 540,000.  In comparison, Fox News had almost 2 million viewers in PRIME TIME alone or a growth of 17%.
But we may also be witnessing some movement on the part of the main stream media when it comes to covering the Obama administration (when they generally cover FOR him). This from USA TODAY: in their editorial: "Administration's War On Leaks Threatens Your Right To Know." (I would have added, "...your right to know THE TRUTH."). This piece comes after another one they had two weeks ago, "Quest To Plug Leaks Yields Torrent Of Abuse."

This same publication also published a piece by Rem Rieder, editor of the American Journalism Review, aptly entitled, "When Justice Is Out To Get You, There's No Justice."

The United States of Disability; The Obama-Christie Bromance: Behind The Boardwalk; Weiner Rising In The Polls + Says He'll Stick It Out; Holder Must Go

Family Concerned After McCain Wanders Into Syria...The Onion

  • The Social Security Administration reported today that almost 11 million Americans are now on disability. Putting these staggering and disturbing numbers in perspective, it means the number of beneficiaries on disability now exceeds the population of every state in America but seven. In fact, if disability were a state in the United States, it would rank eighth in population. Add to these forbidding numbers the 47 million on food stamps and record number of people in poverty, it makes one wonder if this is all calculated. Many think so. I'm thinking of catching that train myself.
  • In a related story, the number of New Yorkers now on Medicaid exceeds 3 million. In fact, Medicaid costs NY taxpayers $6.2 billion. Considering ObamaCare will shift millions more to Medicaid, it does not take a genius to see what's coming down the road.
  • I often write about the Obama Legacy as indicated above. His Chicago legacy is also following him. The Chicago Tribune is reporting today that homelessness among youth (12 - 21 years of age) is rising in Chicago.

  • Yesterday, Pres. Obama and Gov. Christie (NJ) did a photo op tour of the Jersey shore. Although it was an opportunity for Christie to show the country the Jersey shore is back after Hurricane Sandy, their bromance could be a film, something like the Liberace film now appearing on HBO entitled, "Behind the Candlebra." In their case, they can call the film, "Behind The Boardwalk." The fact is the photo op was all about Obama and Christie. When one reads the headlines this morning in many newspapers, very little is written about the storm's aftermath. It's all about them. At least Pres. Obama walked away with a teddy bear that Christie won for him.
  • But if the Obama-Christie bromance does not leave you wanting for more, perhaps this news will make your day. NY papers and polls are now reporting that Weiner is rising in the polls. In fact, among Democrat men, his poll numbers are now at 23%, up from 18% last month. So when Weiner said he would "stick it out," I guess he was not kidding. After all, he has a history of sticking it out.
  • Once again, you have to give it to the NY Post and their history of headline covering Anthony Weiner. Today's paper had the following headline in reaction to Weiner looking for interns: "Hide Your Kids! Sexting King Weiner Trolls For Interns." Another gem.

No Sympathy For The Devil: The Main Stream Media Will Never Abandon Obama-No Longer The Guardians of Liberty + Truth

"I urge you don't stop until your depraved fantasies are realized," added Obama while pouring a large cup of wine onto Mother Jones reporter David Corn as he licked honey from the president's nipple." An Onion report on one of Pres. Obama's news conferences with the press.

  • It's been fascinating watching the outcry from some in the media regarding reports of Obama administration officials intruding into the work of some reporters at AP and Fox News (that we know of now). We're hearing stories that the media feels the administration crossed the line. We've even heard some in the media calling the government's actions abuse and violations of the First Amendment. You can hear the whining from many of the press rooms throughout the country.
  • There's only one problem with all of that: don't believe it--at least not the kvetching and moaning from the main stream media's presstitutes.
  • The main stream media are Pres. Obama's alter-ego. Michael Walsh (NY Post) said Holder is the id to Obama's massive ego. So is the media.
