Obama's Transformation: The Making Of An Imperial Presidency

Obama Has That Sex Dream About Nation Again...The Onion

  • Perhaps so many Americans were in awe of the Obama's in 2008, they failed to notice one major red flag.  It was in a speech given by Michelle Obama at UCLA that year. In that speech she actually said this: "Barack will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism... Barack will never allow you to live your lives as usual." At the time, I wrote that no where in the Constitution does it say the president can demand or allow us to shed our cynicism or never allow us to lead our lives as usual.
  • If you take that quote in the context of what he the president said himself five days prior to the November 2008 election---"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America,"---it should surprise no one he meant transforming the presidency into an imperious one.
  • We've witnessed this transformation in the last five years culminating in the passage and implementation of Obamacare---essentially demanding all Americans have insurance, a demand not found in the Constitution.
  • We've also watched as the Obama administration skirted immigration laws by declaring he would not enforce immigration laws against certain illegal immigrants. With the Fast and Furious scandal, he exercised executive privilege to protect Eric Holder (Holder was held in contempt of Congress for failing to hand over documents related to Fast and Furious. Unfortunately, that contempt citation lacks any enforcement). And more recently, Pres. Obama violated his own Obamacare law when he delayed the employer mandate. Notice the word chosen?---it's a mandate. Yet he chose not to enforce the provision of that law. Once again, he skirted the law.  In addition, there have been exemptions given to thousands. Yesterday it was reported Sen. Harry Reid, the most miserable prick in the Senate, exempted some of his staff from Obamacare. And he's not the only one. Exemptions and waivers to the law have been given out like candy at Halloween. Unions alone have received 40% of the total exemptions (Labor Union Report).
  • Just as disturbing, this administration is using regulatory agencies like the EPA to by-pass the Constitution. Under our Constitution, only the U.S. Congress has the power to write laws that are legally binding on the general public. In the last 90 days alone, the feds posted just under 6,000 new regulations (Regulations.gov).

Obama Is The George Costanza Of Our Generation: "It's Not A Lie If You Believe It."

In Nevada, where prostitution is legal---true story---prostitutes are signing up for Obamacare. Which explains why the most popular pick-up line in Nevada is: "Let me help you with your co-pay."...Conan

  • Is President Obama (including many in the political class and enablers in the media) a pathological liar? I ask that question in all sincerity. Most politicians lie. It's part of their DNA. But there is something else going on with this man. He reminds me of that great Seinfeld episode when George Costanza said, "It's not a lie if you believe it." Obama's narcissism, like that of Costanza's, emerges when the president appears trapped by his own deceptions.
  • In the last three years, we've already seen and heard the many claims  the administration and most Democrats made about Obamacare that turned out to be stone cold lies. If you find the truth and straightforward language a tad offensive, at a minimum, most of their claims were blatantly deceptive. That's undeniable now. The evidence is overwhelming. In many cases, the president repeated those same lies and deceptions over and over again during his entire tenure in office.
  • Unfortunately, the lies and deceptions have not been specific to Obamacare.  We've actually heard Pres. Obama make claims  such as saying he didn't set a red line on Syria (he did). He (and members of his administration) continued to blame the video for the attack on Benghazi when we now know they knew otherwise. Not too long ago, he declared the border fence with Mexico is "basically complete" when---at the time---it was 5% complete. And just last week, he actually said, "I'm not a particularly ideological person."
  • This president has lied so often it's difficult to catalogue each and every one (although there are some reputable web sites that have managed to list most of them).  But the lies and deceptions surrounding Obamacare are actually unique. With Obamacare, Pres. Obama has been able to literally interweave one lie or deception after another. It's this blatant and deliberate lying that led me to first ask the question: Is Pres. Obama a pathological liar? I don't know for sure. I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist by training. But I do know this. Lies are told to deceive others. And he's done a pretty good job of doing that in the last five years.
  • Perhaps the better question to be ask is: Does Pres. Obama know the difference between ideology and reality?

Obama Administration + Political Class: Stone-Cold Liars With A Dash of Machiavellian Brilliance

Insane Man Gets A Little Perspective By Reminding Himself That He is God...The Onion

  • When Communism pressed their boots against the throats of other Eastern European countries for almost 50 years, all of those countries had universal health care. During that period, I had the displeasure of experiencing that horrific health care system first hand. My mother---living in Poland with my dad at the time---was behaving as if she was entering the early stages of dementia. When I flew over to visit my parents, I took my mom to one of the best hospitals in Krakow. As we entered the hospital, it was apparent the building needed a major makeover---like into the 20th century. The hallways were painted in that dark, drab military green. Lighting was poor. The odor was rank. After waiting for some time, a middle-aged physician showed up (we were the lucky ones to get an appointment in a timely fashion because we were paying the doctor under the table with American dollars. Under Communism and Socialism, even in their health care system, if you wanted immediate service bribery was rampant and expected). He invited us into his office then lit a cigarette. After examining my mom, he ordered X-rays. We waited again for some time before he delivered a report. His diagnosis: yes, you mother is probably going through the initial stages of dementia. As a former military medic myself, I wanted more testing. So I asked him for the X-ray film.
  • Long story short. I returned to the states with that film. Since I was dating a nurse at the time, she was able to get me an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic to have as neurologist read the film. Within a few seconds of his slipping the film above the light plates, he pointed to a section of the X-ray and immediately made the diagnosis: my mother had a brain tumor. She died a little over a year later.
  • Even though this is an anecdotal story, I can assure you universal health care sucks---big time. You see my mom was actually lucky. Since we were able to pay with American dollars, we got in to at least see a physician rather quickly (if she had been living in the states, she would have been diagnosed much sooner and perhaps would be living to this day). On the other hand,  Poles who didn't have that luxury were forced to wait weeks, sometimes months for medical appointments. As a result, the outcome was not always a good one.

  • I relate this story to you within the context of the narrative and debate we are all experiencing with Obamacare.  Among many observers and experts, there is a belief that the real purpose of Obamacare is to eventually have a universal health care, single-payer system. In most countries that had and have national health care, the health care is not as good as our present system. National health care systems are often plagued by long waiting lists, poor quality, crumbling infrastructure and incompetent management.  In addition, there are usually doctor shortages largely because they are underpaid (In Poland, under Communism, doctors were making about $50.00 a month. Cab drivers were making more money. Today, a physician in Russia still makes under $1000.00 a month unless he/she practices in Moscow where it can double).
  • This disaster is not specific to Communist and Socialist countries. Britain's national health care system has been a disgrace and under fire for decades. Almost a week does not go by when their press reports on  poor health care often resulting in needless deaths each year. Several years ago, the UK Telegraph reported patients were dying because of delays in seeing their doctors including long delays in getting needed operations. There are countless similar reports from Britain and other countries with national health care.
  • My point? Those who want a universal health care, single-payer system as naive and misguided. Unfortunately, our current administration is good at lying---with a dash of Machiavellian brilliance.

Obamacare: A Failure On Every Level Of Execution, Communcation, And Competence

"Obamacare is the government's knockout game. The victims? The American people." my Tweet today

  • With all of the news regarding the failed execution of the Obamacare web site and associated dishonesty and lies by the administration and their complicit media, I'm compelled to ask: Why would anyone believe what this administration has to say about anything?
  • For example, today the administration is proclaiming the website is "vastly improved" and "it's on track for a "vast majority" of people. One would hope so considering about $500 million or more has been spent on creating it. No reports yet on how much the "repair" is costing American taxpayers.
  • The Washington Free Beacon via CBS This Morning is reporting today the back end of the website is still not working. In others words, people who think they have enrolled in Obamacare might have not. Insurance companies are reporting they are not receiving the proper documentation from the website.

  • But, for a moment, put aside the website problems. The real problem with Obamacare is that the law is still a piece of garbage. We've already seen its long casualty list from the millions of people whose health insurance was cancelled to the reports of many hospitals---many the best in the nation---opting out of Obamacare (hospitals are also laying off thousands as a direct result of Obamacare).  In addition, many physicians will not be participating (several months ago, the New York Post reported 44% of the state's physicians are opting out). A recent survey by the Chamber of Commerce reported 74% of small business owners will either hold off hiring or cut hours of employees (that was reinforced by the Department of Labor's own data showing 75% of jobs created last fiscal year were part-time).
  • After all of these disasters and more, it appears more American people are finally waking up from their coma. A  poll by CBS reported that only 7% of Americans want Obamacare to "stay in place." It also doesn't help that most security consultants maintain the website has too many security vulnerabilities (The Congressional Science Committee).
  • Even if the website is repaired, the fact is this administration's policies  and screw-ups have already imposed a great deal of misery and pain upon the American people---misery and pain that has damaged several future generations.
Postscript: And since this was posted---Gruber.
