Mr. President: When You Try Hard To Be Cool---That's Not Cool

During the meeting with the Pope and Obama, his Holiness listened patiently. So did the Pope....Tweet by Jay Carnie

  • Before I thought about writing this piece, I did several quick Google searches on Obama and the cool factor.  One came up with over 9 million results. Pres. Obama even beat out Steve McQueen in the numbers of searches. Yet, as most people know, Steve McQueen was cool precisely because he never tried to be cool. Obama can't say that nor can his supporters. In fact, on one web site catering to millennials, the author pointed out that many young voters said Obama was "struggling" to maintain his cool factor during the 2012 campaign.
  • And this week, even the Politico came out with a piece about Pres. Obama's meeting with the Pope. Politico pointed out Obama wants the "halo effect" from the Pope "whose cool factor far outweighs his own." There's only one problem with that observation. One can't regain being cool after it's lost. In the case of Pres. Obama, his "coolness" was a media creation.
  • In the last five years, the media failed to note that "halo effects" are an illusion. And when you enter the world of realty when it comes to failed domestic and foreign policies, the halo is as cheap as the crowns given out at Burger King. Most end up in the garbage.
  • It's clear that Pres. Obama is no longer a charismatic leader. In fact, he's not even a leader who is charismatic. As we've watched development in the last year with just Syria, Iran,  the Ukraine and Russia, Obama's influence and authority have been conspicuous by their absence. Cool can only take one so far. Beyond that, one needs substance---a trait lacking with this president.
  • Even The New Yorker in a piece by John Cassidy {"Mr. Cool: Obama And The Hipness Factor'} understood this. In April of 2012, John Cassidy wrote: "But for Obama, accentuating his hipness carries some dangers...especially during a prolonged economic downturn."
  • Trying to hard to be cool is not cool. The fact is cool doesn't work well when one is arrogant, dishonest and incompetent. In retrospect, perhaps someone should have given Pres. Obama a copy of the film "Bullitt" five years ago.  He would have learned being cool is a matter of substance not style.

The Progressive Political Class To Americans: You Are All Stupid + You Stink Too

The cost of flying the Obama's to their Hawaiian and African vacations is $16 million. That figure does not include long-term parking...Jay Carnie Tweet

  • In my last post about Sen. Harry Reid, I referred to him as the most miserable prick in Congress. I also commented on the fact that he makes stupid statements on a regular basis perhaps only surpassed by Slo Joe Biden, Pelosi and Barbara Boxer. Regardless, it's probably a push. As I pointed out in that post, it was Reid who said of the tourists visiting Capitol Hill, "You can always tell it's summertime because you can smell the visitors." In other words, to Reid---we stink.
  • Nevertheless, it didn't take long for Reid to show his complete ignorance and idiocy yet again. Yesterday, he blamed Obamacare cluster fucks on "people not educated on how to use the Internet." Of course, everyone knows the Internet is a new technology. It's only been around for public use a tad more than 25 years.

  • Sarcasm aside, his statement about the Internet reflects his total lack of awareness even when it comes to the publicizing of Obamacare and the Internet. As many know by now, the Obama administration has been targeting and engaging  young Americans to sign up for health care (someone has to pay for this garbage)---the exact demography that has absolutely no knowledge of a world without the Internet.
  • Not long ago, I also wrote a piece emphasizing the fact that the Obama administration and the progressives need a nation of knuckleheads to exploit. In fact, as evidenced by Obama's winning the last two elections, these people are geniuses at doing just that. But, as the Obama administration and the political class are learning each day, even the useful idiots and knuckleheads are waking up from their long coma. The polls on Obamacare, on the Obama administration and on Congress are tanking faster than MC Hammer's career.
  • That's why it should surprise no one that Pres. Obama decided to meet with Pope Francis today. The knucklehead strategy is on display again.  Obama and his supporters are hoping some of the Pope's universal admiration, affection and inspiration rub off on Pres. Obama---considering the world is no longer genuflecting to him.

Harry Reid: The Most Miserable Prick In U.S. Senate History

Authorities On Alert As Hundreds Of Crazed Sociopaths Enter Congressional Chambers...The Onion posting a photo of Congressmen and women on the House front steps

At least a week does not go by when Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev) either proclaims a bold-faced lie or just makes  a complete fool of himself. But with Reid, it's even worse than that. He's also malicious, nasty, offensive and perhaps one of the most miserable pricks to ever be a member of the U.S. Senate (and the history of the U.S. Senate is replete with pricks). Let's take a moment and review Reid's recent political history:

  • In the middle of the surge during the Iraq War, Reid said: "The war is lost." Even former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates criticized Reid for that statement considering we still had young men and women fighting and dying in Iraq.
  • In 2010, he actually appeared happy when he said of the economy "today is a good day in America. Only lost 36,000 lost their jobs today."
  • He said Clarence Thomas, Supreme Court Judge, was an embarrassment and also praised Pres. Obama for being "light skinned" with "no negro dialect unless he wanted to have one."
  • Referring to tourists at Capitol Hill, he said: "You can always tell when it's Summertime because you can smell the visitors."
  • In the past, he's referred to Tea Party members as "terrorists" and "anarchists."
  • When seven Marines died last March, he blamed their deaths on sequestration. In other words, he used the deaths of our Marines for purely political purposes.

  • During the last presidential campaign, while on the Senate floor, he said Mitt Romney had not paid his taxes for 10 years. That was a bold-faced lied. But he actually made that statement during the same week McClatchy News Service reported he and Pelosi had NOT released their own tax returns. In fact, the Romney's had not only paid their taxes, but they gave more to charity in one day than the Biden's did in a decade. In 20 years, the Romney's gave about $50 million to charity.
  • And if these examples aren't enough (this guy has been making an ass out of himself for decades), in late February of this year he said "all" of the Obamacare horror stories are "untrue" and "absolutely false." Of course, it only took countless news sources to prove otherwise.
In closing, it's been undeniable for years: Harry Reid remains the most miserable prick in U.S. Senate history.

MSNBC Remains A Haven For Lunatics

The economy is so bad MSNBC had to lay off 300 Obama spokesmen...Leno in early 20014

  • Several months ago, I wrote a piece liking MSNBC to taking a peek through the window of a day room in a mental health facility. It had little to do with the network's outright bias toward Republicans and conservatives. Most networks these days are biased and politically left leaning. That's par for the industry these days. In fact in 2012, Pew Research proved beyond any doubt that MSNBC was far more bias than even Fox News. For example, during the last week of the 2012 presidential campaign, Pew found that MSNBC reported no negative news stories about Obama. In other words, in the face of high unemployment, historically high poverty rates, Obamacare cluster fucks and failed foreign policy, MSNBC took a dive.  Even Tom Brokaw, the former news anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News for over 20 years, openly criticized MSNBC on several occasions for comments made by Martin Bashir about Sarah Palin. If you recall, Bashir suggested Sarah Palin endure similar treatment as slaves did including someone defecating in her mouth.
  • No, the network is no longer a credible news organization. In fact, one can make a reasonable argument it is now run and hosted by a bunch of lunatics.
  • In just the recent past, in addition to Bashir, the network anchors ridiculed Romney's adopted black grandchild, were forced to dump Alec Balwin for anti-gay slurs and former anchor Keith Olbermann accused Fox News of being worse than al-Qaeda and as dangerous as the Klan.

  • MSNBC's news coverage and complicity with the Obama administration has been so over-the-top even some on the main stream media took notice. For example, with MSNBC's obsession with Bridgegate, they wrote: "...MSNBC decided to throw even the pretense of journalism overboard." David Zuwarik of the Baltimore Sun even wrote of MSNBC: "That's not a news channel...That's a propaganda machine. You wonder how mainstream news organizations allow their reporters and correspondents to appear in such a cauldron of bias."

  • In this week's recent piece by David Rutz of the Washington Free Beacon {"MSNBC: Hate Forward"}, he wrote: "MSNBC's entire primetime lineup is stacked with liberal journalists and pundits, who in turn have more liberal journalists, pundits and Democratic lawmakers as their guests 90% of the time."
  • So keep in mind, this is the network that still employs Al Sharpton, Chris Mathews and Ed Schultz (he called Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut."). And there's certainly no need to revisit Al Sharpton's background of being a race-baiting thug.
  • It's clear. While journalism has long compromised their own journalistic principles, MSNBC has become a haven for lunatics.
Postscript:

Since this was posted, the lunatics at MSNBC managed to turn ISIS and Ebola into race issues.
