Don't Worry Israel, Obama Said Hamas Only Acts Extraordinarily Irresponsibly

For those too young to remember or know, the Khmer Rouge were Communist. They ruled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. It is estimated they murdered 2-3 million Cambodians. They used forced labor, torture and mass executions. After the Vietnamese invaded Cambodia, they found up to 20,000 in mass graves referred to as the "Killing Fields" later made famous by a film with the same name.

By any stretch of the imagination, no one in their right mind would refer to what the Khmer Rouge regime did as "irresponsible." So let's extend Mr. Obama's reasoning. Since Hamas is a terrorist organization that's no different from al-Qaeda and ISIS, perhaps they are only acting extraordinarily irresponsible too: So let's take a moment to study these "irresponsible" actions:

• Hamas has fired over 10,000 rockets into Israel in the last nine years, 3000 rockets in the last several months alone. Their aim is to target civilians. They are fully committed to terrorism and destroying Israel. Remember, these are the murderers Nancy Pelosi called "humanitarian." (the photo above is of Hamas).
• ISIS, a group of homicidal maniacs, commits mass executions of innocent civilians.
• Cowardly Hamas terrorists use civilians as human shields. They've also fired their rockets into Israel from schools, hospitals, mosques and private homes.
• ISIS is slaughtering Christians and driving them from their homes most recently from Mosul. ISIS issued an ultimatum to all Christians in Mosul to either convert to Islam, pay a tax, leave or face immediate execution.
• In using innocent civilians as human shields and their dead, the intent of Hamas is to portray Israel as the aggressor. In fact, last week, the IDF found a copy of the Hamas handbook on urban warfare and propaganda. In it, it notes the IDF "limits their use of weapons and tactics" in areas filled with civilians and it hails the "destruction of civilian homes" to help increase the bias and hatred toward Israel. This propaganda is apparently successful with many anti-Semites in the United States and Europe where these misguided nitwits are making proclamations against Jews such as "Hitler was right" and "Back to the ovens" Do they even know, if Hitler won WWII, they would be all speaking German right now and many of their family members would have been murdered years ago?

A Great Nation Needs To Be Perceived As A Badass Global Force For Good

"Our friends no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us." That bold statement was made by Congressman Adam Kinzinger {R-Ill}. The congressman, an Iraq War veteran, said that in response to the fall of Fallujah and the way Obama withdrew from Iraq. 

But Iraq is just one part of the Obama administration's failed foreign policy landscape. Whether it's been dealing with the Hamas/Israeli crisis or the Syrian civil war  or Russia's aggression against the Ukraine or even confronting Islamist terrorism around the globe (including the cleansing of Christian communities), it's become increasingly clear our allies no longer trust us. As far as unleashing hell upon our enemies, they know this administration doesn't have the spine to take such action. They've witnessed that repeatedly with the behavior of John F. Kerry---the long face of appeasement. In other words, our nation's credibility as both a reliable partner and protector has been compromised within a few short six years.

As any reasonable observer would know, the United States has a long history of providing reliable, generous and trustworthy assistance to most nations around the globe in both human and financial resources. Perhaps the greatest example of that was during WWII. Following that war, our record of assisting our allies was exemplary as seen with the Berlin airlift, the Korean War, supporting Europe in the face of Soviet aggression and even rescuing Kuwait from the evil clutches of Saddam Hussein. In fact, one can probably argue that America's admirable and noble behavior toward others---especially those in need---created a reinforcing geopolitical situation wherein allies became dependent upon us. That too can have its drawbacks. But in the world of geopolitics, that dependence can actually be used an an effective strategy in coping with the many ills of the modern world. In other words, it can be used as a type of geopolitical marker: we helped you so now it's time for you to support us.

Unfortunately, it appears the Obama administration and the progressive political class never learned that strategy. When a great nation is perceived as unreliable and weak, a vacuum is created. That vacuum has to be filled. And it's filled with either good guys or bad guys. As America regresses in its global stature, it appears the bad guys are picking up the slack.

We are now in desperate need of genuine leadership. We already have it in our military and the best fighting force on the globe. Unfortunately, it's lacking in our political structure. To borrow from the U.S. Navy with a hint of paraphrase: we need to get back to being perceived as a "Badass Global Force For Good."

Progressivism: A Disease Unleashed Upon The Nation

• I opened up my copy of the New York Post (yes, still the hard copy), and one of my many predictions about progressives came true yet again.  In the past, I've written several pieces about New Yorkers voting in another bunch of progressive politicians last November including Mayor de Blasio and his executive staff. At the time, I cautioned New Yorkers that the city would be plunging into progressive hell.  I also warned about the infiltration of progressive fanatics and the potential harm they would cause the city. In addition, I advised all Americans to take notice.
• As the New York Post reported last week, Al Sharpton has taken it upon himself to be the city's adviser, especially on issues having to do with the operation of the NYPD. But it's even more sinister than that. As the Post also reported, Mayor de Blasio gave Sharpton a platform on how the NYPD should be policing. This was subsequent to the death of an Eric Garner. According to reports, Garner had been resisting arrest and was allegedly placed into a fatal chokehod by an NYPD undercover officer. (By the way, NYPD Commish Bratton remained largely silent during Sharpton's public criticism of the NYPD).
• Let's take a step back for a moment. This is the same Al Sharpton who masterminded the Tawana Brawley hoax in 1987. This is the same Al Sharpton who led marches over race riots in the early 1990's. During those riots, some Jews were beaten and one was murdered. He also inflamed the fires in the Duke Lacrosse hoax. And even today, as he gains favors with the progressive political elites and and the media (he continues to host a wretched show on MSNBC) , he and his non-profit have accumulated a total of $4.7 million in outstanding debt and liens. This according to federal and state tax records via the New York Post. In fact, Sharpton himself owes NY State approximately $800,000 and owes the feds $2.6 million in unpaid personal income taxes. In addition, his own communications company owes almost a half-mil to the state. And it does not end there. The Federal Elections Commission reports Sharpton still owes $208,000 for improperly taking campaign money during his 2004 presidential bid. (You gotta love the way progressives like Sharpton spout about income inequality and incomes redistribution when they just keep ripping off the American taxpayer).
• Then another event took place that shows how the disease of progressivism metastasizes throughout the body politics and the culture. As reported above, an NYPD officer allegedly chocked a man allegedly resisting arrest. Here's the perverted twist. The man who captured the arrest of Garner on his cellphone got busted himself over the weekend for illegally carrying a handgun. Upon being busted, he told his wife to "Call Al Sharpton right away." Oh, before I forget. There's something you should know about this guy. He's been arrested 25 times in the past for robbery, weapon  possession and assault.
• Keep in mind, the last time progressives ran NY City, murder rates exceeded 2000 per year. After they were thrown out of office, murder rates declined to about 400 per year in a city of 8 million people. You know the good citizens in cities like Chicago, Detroit and other progressive run cities looked upon New York City with envy. But that might be coming to and end considering the disease of progressivism has now been unleashed upon not only the nation but also NY City.

Postscript: This week (11/18/14), the NY Times is reporting Sharpton owes $4.5M in current state and tax liens. In addition, the paper is questioning his finances.
