The Obamacare Critics Vindicated

A video surfaced this week that clearly shows the critics of Obamacare were right all along. In the video, the architect of Obamacare---Jonathan Gruber---actually bragged about deceiving the American people. Gruber made his comments at a special event on the campus of MIT about one year ago. In short, he admitted to lying about the law in order to help the Obama administration and Democrats get support for the law.

In one part of the video, Gruber says, "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage." He's right. That's why this administration has been one of the most opaque administrations in American history. Later he added this, "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter..." Once again, while there's some truth to that statement, one of the main reasons a majority of Americans still don't support Obamacare is because there are also many smart Americans.

It's certainly no secret that the first impulse of this administration and of many Democrats has been to lie to the American people. In fact, Obamacare actually helped expose their lies, deceit, dishonesty, and arrogance. In the last six years, we've seen an administration (and its complicit media) without any core principles. It's actions are based on a warped progressive ideology. Truth be damned. Transparency be damned. Americans be damned. It's as simple as that. As I've posted in the past: the progressive political class keeps flipping American the bird. Obamacare is just one example of that kind of contemptuous and imperious behavior.

Earlier this year, Michelle Malkin summarized Obamacare best: "It's not salvation. It's a criminal enterprise rooted in ideological fraud." Jonathan Gruber admitted that himself.  For once, the administration actually told the truth.

Postscript: Since this was posted last week, The NY Post reported that Gruber profited handsomely from his deceit to the tune of at least $1.5M. Count on that number going higher with more revelations.  Obamacare is an agenda built on lies.

Also breaking in the last few days, as Obama said Gruber was only an "adviser," it's now reported that Obama praised him as "someone he'd {Obama} stolen ideas from, liberally." Oops!!! Caught again in a web of more lies.

Hillary Clinton Reveals Zero In Non-Candid, Tell-Nothing Interview...The Onion

In the last several years, I've written quite a few pieces about Hillary Clinton. Most of those posts can be summarized with the following that are also a direct reflection of Pres. Obama's policies:

• She's the perfect progressive politician: Good at nothing; bad at everything.
• Gov.track.us reported on her trifling record of accomplishments as Senator. They also reported she missed 10% of her votes. The average is about 2% among senators.
• As Senator and as Secretary of State, she had no major foreign policy successes in addition to no diplomatic accomplishments. Her claim to infamous fame can be defined by one word: Benghazi. This terrorist incident took place on her watch. Subsequent investigations to the incident reported on major systemic failures at State. 
• The progressives at The Washington Post were forced to ask themselves: "Where is the record of accomplishment, let alone greatness."
• Heritage Foundation (a conservative group) wrote: "America's position as a superpower is being weakened by Pres. Obama and Secretary Clinton's failure to stand up to tyranny." How prescient were they then considering the state of geopolitical politics today?
• It was on her watch when the Muslim Brotherhood gained power in Egypt. It was on her watch when Syria plunged into civil war hell. She actually called Assad a "reformer" at one time.
• It was her State Department that refused to brand Boko Haram a terrorist organization. Since then, Boko Haram has terrorized and murdered thousands of people especially young women and Christians.
• Remember, HillaryCare was the forerunner to Obamacare---both disastrous.
• To put it mildly (perhaps not), her public appearances have been a total disaster this past year. From the failed roll-out of her book {Hard Choices} to basically claiming she and Bubba were poor to parroting Obama two weeks ago in proclaiming that businesses and corporations don't create jobs. 
• Jonathan S. Tobin wrote recently: "Clinton never seems to know what she stands for except her own advancement." He referred to it as "transparent inauthenticity."
• This summer, when several of her supporters were asked about Clinton's accomplishments, they couldn't think of one major accomplishment other than "she traveled a lot."

After all of this and more, the only thing Hillary Clinton has left is her name recognition. Unfortunately, we continue to be a nation of many knuckleheads especially when it comes to politics. After all, how else can anyone explain Obama winning two terms? And we know how schizophrenic voters can be. They often vote for the same politicians who created the problems in the first place.

Having said that, the 2014 mid-term elections do offer up some hope (not the Obama type hope either). It appears more Americans are finally realizing they've been conned big time. Nevertheless, as I wrote recently, don't put a fork in Hillary Clinton yet. But the recent elections show that more Americans are keeping their forks handy---for now.
