At National Prayer Breakfast, Pres. Obama Diverts Attention From Today's Islamist Homicidal Maniacs To Insult Christians

"If Islam is a 'Religion of Peace,' it's time to show the evidence to the endangered Christians in the Middle East." Ralph Peters

At the National Prayer Breakfast today, Pres. Obama wanted everyone to know that Islam is not the only religion that is responsible for religious terrorism. He said the following: "Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."

While there is certainly some truth to his claim, I'm obliged to ask him this question: Mr. President, why did you have to go back to the 16th century to make some warped point? That was yesterday. We're confronting Islamist today. In addition, Christianity went through a "reformation." Islam did not. Moreover, after years of denying that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism, Obama admitted it does with this statement  "But we also see faith today being twisted and distorted, used as a wedge---or worse, sometimes used as a weapon."

Yet, after making that statement and others, he felt obliged to do what many progressives do---resort to diverting attention away from the real enemy---radical Islam. Hence, his statement referring to the Crusades---in essence, a European War {some refer to it as a "Religious War"} against the then spread of Islamist expansion. And while that's almost ancient history, the goal of Islamist today remains largely the same---to spread a caliphate or an Islamic form of government. And throughout all of this, Pres. Obama, as well as his enablers in the media, rarely mentions Islamist stacking one Christian body upon another throughout the globe. Instead, it was this administration that chose to wage a hashtag war against homicidal maniacs like Boko Haram instead of arming those hashtags.

This administration keeps lecturing us on the need to coexist with Islam. But how do we coexist with millions of people who want to kill us? I've often said I don't have a problem with Islam but I do have a problem with so many practitioners of that faith who have a penchant for burning people alive, kidnapping young women, honor killings, forced marriages, antisemitism, using children as bombs and human shields, terrorism and beheading innocents.

Other than that Mr. President---what can possibly go wrong? Hope you enjoyed breakfast.

America Needs A Gunslinger As President Not A Bystander

Last time I checked, this was still America, but if I'm being honest, that was awhile ago...The Onion

During Obama's infamous Syrian"red line" screw-up, Michael Barone {Washington Examiner) summarized the Obama administration's Syrian policy this way: "Blunder after blunder. That's been the story of President Obama's policy toward Syria." But it's what Barone added that made that statement all the more prescient: "Undermining the power of even feckless president risks undermining the power of the presidency---and of America for years."

Barone could not have been more perceptive. Since the Syrian blunder, we've watched as this administration went on a tear in terms of foreign policy clusterf*cks. The outcomes of Obama's failed foreign policy are everywhere including, but not limited to, the following:

  • The Obama administration was warned that Putin had to be stopped from invading the Ukraine or we would be paying a price later. We and the West are paying that price now. Putin is not a fool. He knows Obama is weak in foreign policy. He also knows the EU is even weaker both economically and devoid of any political will. And while the downward spiral of oil prices are hurting even Russia,  I contend he's not as much interested in taking over the Ukraine as much as he's interested in demonstrating the West is feckless and spineless. In other words, he feels he has nothing to fear. Rich Lowry reiterated this claim when he recently wrote: "If we don't provide military material to Ukraine now, we deserve the contempt with which Putin regards us."
  • In my previous post, I pointed out the open hostility of the Obama administration towards Israel even though Israel is surrounded by over 20 nations who would like to see it removed from the global map. And many of those countries harbor our enemies. In Syria, Iran keeps propping up Assad. Hezbollah in Lebanon just murdered two Israeli soldiers last week.  We now know Yemen provides training for a multitude of terrorist groups. And Iran keeps making inroads into Iraq and Western Afghanistan.
  • ISIS, Boko Haram, al-Qaeda and its many affiliates keep murdering innocents.
But you don't even have to take my word for it. Recently several retired generals proclaimed the foreign policy of this administration is a mess. Gen. James Mattis, who headed the U.S. Central Command, testified to a Senate committee that the U.S. is not adapting well to the changes going on in the Middle East. Gen. Jack Keane, who testified with Mattis, reported that al-Qaeda continues to grow and dominates many countries. And retired Gen. Michael Flynn, formally the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency told a conference he was attending: "You cannot defeat an enemy you do not admit exists." He of course was referring to the administration's inability to refer to Islamist terrorism. (NY Post. Daily Beast and Peggy Noonan).

Even Leon Panetta, the former CIA director and Secretary of Defense under Obama, wrote in his own memoir that Pres. Obama "avoids the battle, complains and misses opportunities.

So it should be no surprise that Pres. Obama appears to be more of a bystander than taking direct leadership in our nation's foreign policy. And quite simply, when our enemies (and even our own allies) perceive us as weak, that type of behavior invites tyrants to do very bad things. We're watching that being played out today on a global scale.

Postscript: The murderers who Obama called a JV team just burned the Jordanian pilot alive. Guess empathizing does not work too well either---right Mrs. Clinton?
Today, Brussels was hit by Islamist terrorist. Obama chose to remain in Cuba and catch a baseball game.

Obama Administration's Conspicuous Hostility Toward Israel

"A tiny democratic beacon in the Middle East should inspire and really Westerners." Victor Davis Hanson on Israel

John F. Kennedy famously said of Israel: "Israel was not created in order to disappear...It is the child of hope and home of the brave...It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of Freedom." Then why is Pres. Obama, his administration and many in the media so openly hostile against it?

Last summer, I wrote a piece entitled, "Somewhere In Hell, Joseph Goebbels Is Smiling." In that article, I pointed out the distortions, omissions and outright lies in the reporting of the hostilities between Israel and the Jidhadists. It was the period of time when Hamas was raining terror on Israel with hundreds of rocket attacks. A propaganda war against Israel was apparent in much of the progressive press that would have left Joseph Goebbels smiling if he were alive today. But that was just one example of many. More disturbing has been the behavior of our own government towards Israel. For example:
  • It was John F. Kerry who referred to Israel as an "apartheid state." This is from a back-stabbing, pompous ass.
  • It was Obama who was AWOL from the recent Paris march that commemorated the victims of the Islamist attacks in Paris last month. One of those attacks took place in a Jewish owned business. In other words, the terrorist targeted that business because the victims were Jewish.
  • The Obama administration's discernible anger over John Boehner's invitation to invite PM Bibi Netanyahu to address Congress. Obama administration insiders actually called Netanyahu a "coward." Consider how absurd and insulting that is. They said this about a combat, special forces IDF veteran who took part in many battles. He was also wounded in combat on multiple occasions. His older brother was killed in the counter-terrorism hostage rescue mission in Entebbe in 1976. In other words, his family is a family of heroes.
  • And last week, world leaders gathered in Poland for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp. But one leader was conspicuously absent again---Pres. Obama. Yet during the same week, Obama had time to meet with the woman who likes to film herself in a bathtub full of Fruit Loops and milk as she eats the cereal.
These are but a few examples of the Obama administration's antagonism toward Israel. And he does this to a sliver of a country that's surrounded by over 300 million people many of  whom would like nothing better than having Israel wiped off the map. For example, Iran is now taking root in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq. Also, keep in mind, anti-Semitic attacks have been increasing in Europe and the Middle East. But the current president of the U.S. turns his back one of our longest and strongest allies.

Ronald Reagan once said of Israel: "Since the foundation of the State of Israel, the United States has stood by her and helped her to pursue security, peace and economic growth." Unfortunately, the current president of the U.S. appears to have forgotten that promise.

Postscript: Since this was posted, Netanyahu won his election.
