Headline in The Onion's "National News" section with a photo of a young couple smiling broadly: "Cute Couple On Same Antidepressant."
- I know. I know. You wondering and you might just be asking yourself: What the heck is up with that headline? Obama loses Democratic Primary in...? I thought it was all about the Republicans last night? It was, but here's the rest of the story. Obama did lose...in Oklahoma's Democratic Primary last night. He lost 15 counties in the state. He won just 57% of the vote. But before Republicans start popping those corks, they need to know that the president failed to win a single country in Oklahoma in 2008. AP

- Now, let's check out Super Tuesday (I prefer to call it, Super Dudsday). First of all, Romney won ugly. For a guy who outspent Santorum 6-1 in Ohio and to barely win shows Romney is still weak. But a win is a win to use an overused and silly phrase. On the other hand, Santorum appears to have locked up his status as the main challenger to Romney by winning Tennessee so decisively (37%28% as of last night). Santorum keeps collecting the strong conservative votes. And guess what primaries are coming up next week? Some of the strongest conservative states in America that include Alabama, Mississippi and Kansas. Romney continues to have problems in the South. That's the only region in the country where Newt has some strength.
- There is one strong piece of data that should put a smile on Romney's face. He's ahead 2-1 among those Republicans who think he's the most electable and can beat Obama. So he appears to be the favorite at this point in time. However, he's been losing the independent voters in the last month or more. In addition, according to Gallup, Romney's favorable-unfavorable ratings are 45-46%, not that good (but a smile should return to his face when he sees the president's polling in that same category are no great shakes either---50-45%---and the president's approval rating is back down to 43% from just 50% two weeks ago).
In a speech on Wall Street the other day, Obama compared himself to Gandhi. Well, that makes a lot of sense. He's created a lot of jobs in India.---Leno

- In my report on Limbaugh yesterday, I wrote what he said about Sandra Fluke was inappropriate. In addition, it hands the opposition another diversion from what the real problems are with the Obama administration. But let's take a look at how the liberal elite media's been treating Conservative women for many years, especially since Palin came on the scene. For example, The Washington Post referred to Bachmann as a "barbie with fangs in addition to attacking her on her religious beliefs and heated rhetoric. Bill Maher called Palin the "C" word, and "dumb twat." (I'd like to see this little piece of garbage say that to Palin's face or even her husband Todd's face behind some closed doors. Let's see who comes out of that room on their feet). He joked about Santorum's wife using a vibrator (try saying that about Michelle Obama you putz). Ed Shultz of MSNBC called Laura Ingraham a "talk slut" on his national radio show (I believe he did apologize for his comments). However, Babara WaWa laughed it off at the time. Herr Keith Olberman, when he was on MSNBC, referred to Michelle Malkin as "A mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it." Montel Williams, on Air America, rooted for Bachmann to slit her own throat. There are tons of these examples showing how the media attacks conservative women and gets away with it. In fact, no one asked any of these nitwits to apologize (The National Organization of Women did criticize Maher for some of his language, but advertisers have not abandoned him) . As for all of the other shows and publications, no one asked advertisers to divorce themselves from either.
- So why is Rush the target? Two very simple reasons in my opinion: He's now become the issue; therefore, it's a diversion from more important issues. Just as important for the Left, they believe they now have the opportunity to take Rush out (it's the Left that has no respect for the 1st Amendment when it comes to conservatives). They've been trying for years and have failed. Hard to predict, but I think Rush can handle this one.

- Super Tuesday has finally arrived. This is like Christmas for these political observers. And it should be. Ten states are involved with 419 delegates as the top prize. Santorum and Romney still appear to be deadlocked in Ohio and Tenn. Yet, as big a day as this is in the primary campaign, most observers agree that this day will not decide who wins the race for the Republican nomination.
- As you might imagine all the usual left and progressive groups have been coming out in the last several weeks regarding the NYPD's aggressive counter-terrorism tactics. So it was refreshing to see that some Muslim groups rallied in support of the NYPD yesterday at NYPD headquarters. The leaders of the group said the NYPD helps keep their communities safe. "The police. They come to us and say, 'Is everything OK? How can we help you?'" said Imam Qayyoom. USA TODAY

- In case you might not know. The masterminds of the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 were headquartered in Jersey City, NJ. They had safe houses throughout NJ and NY. They were also planning on blowing up bridges and tunnels. I'd say the NYPD is doing one hell-of-a-job keeping us all safe, especially those living in Northern NJ and NY City. Oh, yes, one more thing. The NYPD lost 23 officers on 9/11 and the Port Authority Police lost 37. I'd venture to say: they have skin in this game.
While visiting the GM plant last week Pres. Obama pledged to buy a Chevy Volt after his presidency ends in five years. Today Mitt said, "Make it one year and I'll buy it for you."...Leno

- Referencing Leno above, in his speech to union auto workers at GM last week, Pres. Obama did say he would purchase a Chevy Volt after he left office. But a curious thing happened within 3 days of that speech: GM announced it would halt production of the Volt and lay off 1,300 production line workers. So I ask this question: Did Pres. Obama know that GM would cease production of the Volt when he told GM workers he would purchase a Volt? The answer to that question is YES! How could he not know. The government owns a piece of the company. He knew. And because he knew, he lied. And this was not a small fib. It was a bold-faced lie. This is very similar to the scandal involving Solyndra. At the time, Slo Joe Biden praised the company. Did he know it would go bankrupt too? I don't know the answer to that question, but these two definitely knew about the Volt's poor sales numbers. (Chevy has only sold 10,000 Volts since 2010. Twenty-percent were sold to the U.S. government. And how much did the Volt cost each taxpayer because GM received a bailout from US taxpayers?---try $250,000 grand according to the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.)
- And before anyone says, "Well, all politicians lie." Yes, many do. But this speech to the auto workers was a major policy speech. The president wasn't visiting a local diner and just shooting the breeze with several auto workers over a cup of coffee. He knew the Chevy was suspending operations when he spoke to all the auto workers.

- Speaking of politicians lying, I came to a conclusion many years ago. It's no longer Democrats vs. Republicans; it's both parties vs. the people. Both of these political parties sold out years ago, perhaps many decades ago. They don't have our interests in mind anymore. It's now all about pandering. It's all about lying. And it's all about lining their pockets with wads of OUR money or else just giving our money away. This may be a cynical view of politics, but from what we've seen over the years---can anyone come to any other conclusion? I doubt it.
From The Onion's "News in Brief"...Jury Selection Proving Difficult In Trial Of "The Jury Killer." Phoenix: "Defense attorneys for Thomas David Skrepnak, accused in 1999 of fatally stabbing all 12 members of the jury hearing his armed-robbery trial, are having trouble finding unbiased jurors for his upcoming murder trial. 'It's difficult to find a jury that won't be at least somewhat prejudiced against Thomas,' said lead attorney Patricia Wynne...'"

- I know. I know. Some readers, perhaps many, would be asking me what the hell do you mean by your question, does Pres. Obama even care about our nation? Even I have to admit, I don't know if I would have asked that question if it weren't for one fact (although I know many Americans are asking that same question but for other reasons): According to a report in Politico {"Fundraising: Obama's Real Priority"}, Pres. Obama will hold his 100th fundraiser since declaring reelection (Bush had 49 in the same period). Obama's had 33 since January 1 of this year. So the author of the Politico piece asked some good questions: What could Obama have done with the time he's been hobnobbing with wealthy donors (I might add with the countless hours spent on the golf course and the 16 vacations)? She said he could have "crafted a responsible budget." Or he could have met with congressional Republicans "to find common ground on legislation." (note: the president always blames Republicans for being obstructionist yet he rarely meets with them). She also points out he could have worked with the Senate to "help pass the 28 bipartisan jobs bills that House Republicans have sent him." The author leaves us with this: "...The president is more dedicated to saving his job than doing his job. He loves the thrill of the campaign but avoids the difficulties of governing." So I leave you with another question to my initial question: was the question really that out of line? (I think Socrates would really like me).

- This might go under the file---"Like, We Didn't Know This Already?" Unfortunately, most of the media don't report on this. But I have to give kudos to CBS Money Watch for reporting that the real inflation rate is actually 8%. The American Institute for Economic Research reports if you take out big-ticket items like appliances, cars, computers, etc. but only focus on "daily purchases," it's quite a sticker shock to most Americans. As I and others have been reporting for some time: look at the street level. The economy still sucks big time there. One example, did you know now students at many college campuses are relying on food pantries because they too are struggling to get enough food and supplies? In addition, as I've written about in the past, several small towns I've visited over the last month or two throughout NJ and PA have more than half of their small retail establishment vacant. USA TODAY

- Allow me to give the Birthers some advice---take it or leave it. Get off this birth certificate controversy. It's a loser. All it does is help Obama because the media frames birthers on the fringe. There are literally countless other issues that this administration can be taken to task. Stick with targeting many of the disturbing policies generated by this administration. Let me put it this way. Birthers have been on the issue for over 3 years now and where has it gotten them: nowhere. Whether Obama's birth certificate is genuine or not will not take this administration down, but his lousy policies can. Don't waste your time.
Some sad news. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is reportedly in good condition after major surgery...Leno

- It should surprise no reasonable thinking American that the Left would ambush "Act of Valor." And it didn't take long either. The Huffington Post, a left wing piece of garbage, hammered the film in their review last week. Criticism of any film is expected. But the writer, Jordan Zakarin, went above and beyond being an asshole critic. For example, in his piece, he writes "there are no corrupt officers, no damaged heroes, no queasy doubts about the value of the mission or the virtue of the cause." You can tell by that quote; this knucklehead has watched too many movies almost always depicting the military or cops as corrupt. And it pains him that most "real" warriors are far from that image that Hollywood likes to portray. Next time you hear anyone on the left say they support the troops but not the war---don't believe a word of it. They've always hated the military and always will.
- And if slamming the Navy SEALs and "Act of Valor" is not enough, the media is going ape-sh!t of the NYPD's monitoring Muslim students and activities. The usual cries of "Islamophobia" have been proclaimed in response to NYPD surveillance activities (all legal by the way). Yet these are the very same critics who would be bashing the NYPD if another 9/11 or similar event took place. After all, most of the 9/11 terrorists---were students. But, as Dr. Qanta Ahmed, an American Muslim points out in her piece today, Muslims are freer in America than in any Muslim country in the world. In fact, she even writes that Muslims are freer to practice their religion here than in any Muslim country. She ends her piece with this: "If you choose to smear the NYPD for its work to protect us and our society, so too you choose to smear me, a pluralistic patriotic Muslim in America, for demanding honest discourse." Let me tell you something, this women has balls. She knows writing this stuff puts her life in danger. God be with her. New York Post

- As I predicted several weeks ago, the media and the Obama administration are waging a Holy War against the Catholic Church and faith in general. I don't support everything Santorum says but I have to give him credit for being courageous in the face of the onslaught upon his faith. Where are The Templar's when we need them?
During Vice President's speech in North Carolina, a man on stage kept falling asleep. The worst part? It was actually Joe Biden...Fallon

- A number of publications today are reporting that the Obama administration plans on disarming airline pilots. Almost half of the budget forThe Federal Flight Deck Officer Program (FFDO) in the president's 2013 budget is targeted for reduction from the current $25 million to about $12 million (although the number of armed pilots is classified, USA TODAY in 2008 reported that 1 in about 10 pilots are armed). This proposal begs several questions. First of all, $25 million is a dime in the scheme of things. Cutting this trillion dollar budget by $12 million is like cutting off a piece of crumb from a 12 inch crumb cake. So what's the real reason for slashing a program that is vital for air security? Has the Obama administration already forgotten about 9/11? Moreover, this program has proven to be both effective and efficient (about 28-30% of current airline pilots are former military pilots). In addition, it's relatively cheap (perhaps that's the answer. This government prefers to spend millions and billions on programs that don't work. I think the stimulus bailout comes to mind). The Obama administration is justifying the cuts because they believe the "hardening" of the cockpit doors is sufficient (I guess they don't know a hardened cockpit door can be blown open. And we already know from past experience, Islamist thugs have been able to get explosives on board of some aircraft. There is no such thing as a door that cannot be penetrated). The fact is armed pilots, behind hardened cockpit doors, are in the best tactical position to protect the aircraft from being hijacked. If a terrorist can't get to the flight controls, he can't fly the plane into a building or target. In fact, prior to 1987, many airline pilots were armed with no problems. In addition, prior to the arming of pilots, those in opposition said there would be accidental shootings on board aircraft. Never occurred. To paraphrase Tracy Price, a former airline pilot, "How can government officials...deny those passengers the final line of defense that could save their lives...armed pilots."

- Perhaps this story is more telling. House Democrats in Iowa left the capitol yesterday in protest of the legislature planning on expanding gun rights and a proposed re-write of the law on "reasonable force." If you recall, Wisconsin Democrats left the state last year in order to stall the vote on their budget. These Dems are cowards. When they can't take the heat, they just leave the kitchen.
- If you've noticed, with all of the upheaval in the Middle East and North Africa, Jodan has been relatively stable. But that might change. The Islamic Action Front and The Muslim Brotherhood are starting to cause some problems for the current Jordanian regime (a monarchy). USA TODAY
President Obama said he understands that rising fuel prices are making people worried and fearful. Especially in his reelection campaign, they are really fearful...Leno
- Last week, after Pres. Obama and others from his administration apologized and bowed to the Afghans for the Koran burnings, I was one of the first to say it was the wrong thing to do (check it out. I was ahead of almost every pundit and even Newt. I swear on my dog's life). Now many others agree: apologizing to our enemy is wrong, and it's a sign of weakness. Almost immediately after the president apologized, those homicidal ideologues murdered four of our military personnel. Suicide bombers are now murdering innocent people all over the country. As one commentator remarked, someone may have been clumsy in the handling of the Korans, but it's no excuse for murder.
