Is Tim Tebow 4 Real?; Aniston vs. Angelina; It's really 11%; Obama's #'s Look Bad, Real Bad; Even Experts Can't Understand Newt's Surge; How & Why Does Sharpton Get Away With It?; Enter And Win A Dinner Date With Two Thugs

From The Onion's TV Listings: "Joe Biden's Delaware."
Tonight: Uncle Joe shows off a place where he gets his ink, his favorite parking lot for doing doughnuts, and the Rohoboth Beach boardwark where you can spot some prime grade tail. (I wonder if he invited Herman or Bubba too. Just askin').

  • Is Tim Tebow for real? I have no idea, but the question is being asked less often since he's been kicking arse and thanking the Good Lord. By the way, don't you find the debate about his proclaiming his Christianity interesting? Yet, when gays proclaim their sexuality, they're hailed as some kind of heroes. Makes no sense to me at all. Just let folks be what they want to be as long as no one is getting hurt. Big deal, so Tebow kneels and says a quick prayer. It's not like he's kidnapping some innocent guy off the street and cutting his head off, is it?
  • Allow me to get a celebrity culture issue out of the way.
This woman is beautiful but she is not Hollywood's Sexiest Woman:

Case closed.
  • The Financial Times is reporting the unemployment rate is really 11% (the "real" unemployment rate is much higher). So what do they mean? "According to government statistics, if the same number of people were working today as in 2007, the jobless rate would be 11%," wrote Ed Luce. Since 2007, the percentage of people that either have a job or are looking for work has fallen from 62.7% to 58.5%. (Washington Post).

  • One has to wonder if the election were today would Pres. Obama win. Recent Gallup numbers suggest he might not. His approval numbers are now at 43%. But his numbers pale in comparison to Congress. 76% of Americans said most members of Congress DO NOT deserve to be re-elected. Yet, when asked about their own representative, 53% said he/she SHOULD be re-elected. A tad schizophrenic one might say.
  • One of many reasons his numbers are low is because he does not recognize it's his policies that helped aggravate the financial mess we're in. I say this because of what he said in Kansas last week. He said millions of Americans are "now forced to take their children to food banks." Yo, with all due respect Mr. President, that's happening because of your policies. And, as Charles Krauthammer pointed out so well, Obama says these things because he takes no responsibility for the "current economic distress." As almost everyone knows by now---he blames it on others all the time.

  • Like me, even the experts are perplexed about Newt's surge. In a recent piece in AP {"Gringrich's Rise Has Experts Trying To Make Sense Of it"}, political veterans are scratching their heads about this guy. How does a man whose violated core family values still get the attention of the family values Party? Many also see him as the consummate D.C. insider too. Some believe it's because his message resonates more than his record. Others are saying the way he pushes back against the press and media is very appealing. Who knows? All I know is I don't trust him as far as I can spit a sunflower seed.
  • By the way, Newt leads Romney in all polls in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania and he leads him by big numbers too. In Florida, it 35%-22%. In Ohio, Newt beats Mitt 36% to 18% and in Pennsylvania Newt is up 31% to Romney's 17%. Go figure.
  • Yet, those who really know him---those who worked closely with him---have said he's inconsistent, erratic, untrustworthy and unprincipled (WSJ)
  • It was reported last week that Al Sharpton's non-profit, National Action Network, is deep in the red. Yet, the Rev still managed to give himself a salary of $242k. And he still owes the IRS almost $3 million in income tax and almost a mil in state taxes. In addition, he still owes the Peabody Hotel in Memphis almost $110 grand since 2008. Didn't Capone end up in prison for not paying his taxes?
  • While we're on the topic of salaries, did you know NY-NJ Port Authority toll collectors make from $93 to $102,000 grand in salary and overtime? No wonder it costs us a paycheck just to cross those tunnels and bridges.
  • I wonder if Pres. Obama will attend. Did you know that for a small sum of $2,500 you can have dinner with former domestic terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn? Yep, one lucky person and five guests will be able to join these two thugs. I presume they'll talk about old times like bombing federal buildings and police stations.
