What's There To Be Happy and Thankful For Looking Back at 2011?

The Republican candidates all have a different position on the Federal Reserve. Ron Paul: anti-Fed. Mitt Romney: pro-Fed. And Newt Gingrich: over-fed."---Leno

There's a lot of lists that go around this time of year summarizing all of the events and news stories that took place in 2011. I'm going to take a different spin---reporting on what we should all be happy thankful for looking back at 2011.

  • Let's Start With These Three First:

All three are dead.

  • Need I say more?

  • Welcome home!!!

  • Our U.S. Military.

  • The Greatest Generation

  • Our Heroes

  • Our Finest.

  • Our bravest.

  • Our families.

  • Our Friends

  • Slo Joe Biden, a gift that keeps on giving well after the Christmas season.

  • Ditto

  • Less people worldwide have been dying from wars (Source: Peace Research Institute Oslo)

    • My girl, Angelina.

    • The NFL and The Super Bowl

    • The U.S. importing less oil

    • That with all our economic and political problems, we've not experienced what Europe is going through.

    • Many medical achievements including, but not limited to, preventing and control of infectious, cancer prevention, and better public health preparedness and response.

      • And the incredible and conspicuous generosity and kindness of the American people from helping people coping with disasters world-wide to strangers paying off lay-away gifts for strangers.

      • America's beauty.
I think all of these are a good start.
