Liberian Swimmer Spends Entirety Of Qualifying Race Furiously Scooping Water Into His Mouth...The Onion's Olympic Coverage
- While campaigning and fundraising in Colorado yesterday, Obama said to a group (largely of women): "We will finish what we started." If that statement is not scary enough for a majority of Americans, many in the crowd cheered that statement. That's friggin scary.
- Polling appears to be conflicting. Reuters/Ipsos Poll found---among registered voters---Obama leads Romney 49-42%. Even more disturbing, these voters gave Obama and edge over Romney in handling the economy. Now that's friggin scary.
- However, Rasmussen's daily tracking poll has Romney leading Obama 47-43%.
- As a sidebar, Rasmussen found 61% of voters nationwide have a favorable opinion of Chick-fil-A while only 13% plan to boycott the company.
- Speaking of Chick-fil-A, do you know when Mayor Rham Emanuel of Chicago said Chick fil A did not reflect "Chicago values," he invited Louis Farrahkhan to help quell the out-of-control violence and murder rates in Chicago? In addition, as he directed his hate toward the fast-food chain, he said nothing of the black congregations that also oppose same-sex marriage. Can you define "hypocrisy?"
- One of the states Erick Holder's DOJ is targeting for its voter ID law is Pennsylvania. Those opposed to voter ID laws are so opposed, they're opposition borders on hysteria. One of their criticisms is that it's just too difficult for many Americans to get an ID card. That's a bogus charge as evidenced by Pennsylvania's law. In PA, anyone who does not have an ID can get one FOR FREE FOR VOTING PURPOSES. To prove their identity, all they need to show are ID's from Pennsylvania colleges or universities, military ID's, U.S. passports, or government ID's. If they don't have any of these, they can still get a voter ID card for free by showing any one of the following: certificate of U.S. citizenship, naturalization or birth certificate with raised seal plus two proofs of residency such as lease agreements, current utility bills, W-2, tax records or mortgage records.
- And those opposed to voter ID laws are denial that the laws work. In Georgia, where they've had voter ID laws in place for several years now, found the following results: Hispanic and Latino turnout INCREASED by 140% from 2004 to 2008. Among Blacks, the increase was 42%. And among whites, the increase was 8%. So much for alleged voter suppression. The results for the period 2006 to 2008 are clearly posted in the image above. - A new book {"Who's Counting"} reports on Al Franken's senatorial campaign in 2008. They alleged voter fraud {that rumor surfaced immediately after that election}. In that election, it was found that 1,099 felons had illegally cast ballots. Of those 177 were convicted and 66 more are awaiting trial. Franken eventually---after 8 months of recounts---won by 312 votes. That Senate win gave Obama his 60th Senate vote he need to pass ObamaCare. The book reports on many instances of voter fraud---that broke heavily Democratic---from illegal immigrants, felons and cemeteries.
- But one does not even have to rely on this book for evidence of voter fraud. ACORN's problems were directly related to voter fraud in Vegas, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, New Mexico, Kansas City, St. Louis and many other cities. The charges included fake and fraudulent voter registration forms. So when you hear the apologists on TV declaring there is no voter fraud---they're lying. WSJ and Malkin
- Do you have an extra $7 million? If you do, Garrywen, Montana, is up for sale. It includes the Little Big Horn battlefield where Custer got his clocked cleaned by Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapaho forces in 1876. If you buy it, you will inherit all of 2 residents who live there in addition to the battlefield.
- "Buzz Kill"---that's the headline in the NY Post today. Hundreds of New Yorkers were lining up for free vibrators that were being given out by Trojan. But Bloomberg's Nanny Force came out and shut down the free-give-a-way leaving many New Yorkers feeling they were rubbed the wrong way. The city officials said Trojan did not have a permit. Linda Postell said, "I'm 57 years old, I should be able to get a vibrator!" She added, "I have a problem with the smoking ban, and the soda ban---and now this." That's okay Linda. Obama will make sure you get your free vibrator.
- Misty-May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won their 3rd consecutive Gold Medal in beach volley ball. Both have dominated the sport for 11 years. It's probably their last run at the Gold according to both women. I know I'm going to miss them.
- As of yesterday, USA had 81 total medals followed by China's 77.
