After watching Obama's speech last night, Bill Clinton sat back, lit up a illegal Havana and said proudly, "Damn, I'm still the king." Tweet paraphrase.
- After all that old, stale garbage was spewed last night about how things are looking better, let's get some breaking news in first: The unemployment rate fell from 8.3% to 8.1%. But there's a reason for the drop. More people dropped out of the labor force. Total number not in the labor force now (get the duct tape out): almost 89 million. In fact, the workforce participation for men is the lowest in over 6 decades. A whopping 96,000 jobs were allegedly created (economists expected double that number). But what they don't tell you is what is the "net jobs" number. 119,000 fewer people were working in August. That leaves a net loss of 23,000 jobs. And, as always, the 96,000 number will be revised DOWN quietly next week.
What a difference four years makes. Last time the theme was "Hope and Change." This year the theme is "Hope You Don't Make A Change."...Leno
- What does it say for a major political party to boo God and praise a politician like Bill Clinton? Well, that's exactly what the Democrats did last night. Last night, the DNC had to reinstate the language of God and Jerusalem back on their party platform because they had embarrassed themselves so thoroughly in the face of the entire nation. Yet, even as the statements were reinstated, at least half of the delegates still booed God and Jerusalem.
- And it took LA Mayor Villaraigosa three attempts to get God and Jerusalem back on the party platform. As I listened and watched, I could see St. Peter wincing.
Watching the Democrats lecture the country about the debt and deficit is like watching Michael Moore lecturing us about dieting.

- $16 Trillion: That is now our debt. If one were to spend almost a million dollars a minute from the time of Christ, you would reach that number today. It comes out to about $137,000 per household.
- Debbie Wasserman Schultz was caught in yet another lie. But I'll get back to that one later.
- Yesterday I started a thread of Tweets about what the "over/under" would be for Democrats to start spouting lies, mentioning Bain, proclaiming the rich should pay their "fair share," Romney and his taxes, etc. etc. Well, it didn't take long. Newark Mayor Cory Booker went on a tirade about the rich not paying their fair share. Harry Reid brought up the issue of Romney's taxes.
- But let's get back to lies. Even the knee-pad media fact-checkers had to admit the Democrats were loaded with lies. For example, the Washington Post fact-checkers pointed out this morning that San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro's claim in his keynote address of "4.5 million new jobs" is factually wrong. They point out the Dept. of Labor's statistics show job creation in Obama's entire presidency is either minus 300,000 or plus 160,000, depending on whether you date his presidency from January or February.
- The WAPO fact-checks also reported what Castro said about the Romney-Ryan budget cuts is patently false. The fact-checkers also pointed out Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and her claim about Republicans cutting Medicare is false.
- The paper also reminds readers that Harry Reid's claim yesterday that Romney pays a lower tax rate than middle-class families is a bold-faced lie. In fact, they point out Reid earned Three Pinocchios for making that claim at an earlier date.
- But the lies did not end there. Even fact-checking Michelle Obama's speech, lies were prevalent. For example, in her speech, she alluded to how hard the early years were for both of them. The fact is both attended elite private schools. They both attended Ivy League schools. They purchased a $278,000 condo in 1993. In 2000, they moved into a $1.6 million mansion in Hyde Park. After Pres. Obama became state senator, Michelle Obama was earning $316,000 as a hospital administrator. Breitbart

"...More than half of Pres. Obama's Twitter followers are fake...Which is actually a good thing. If they did exist, there wouldn't be any jobs for them."...Leno
There are two important questions Democrats are evading as their convention begins this week.
The first one is Reagan's often quoted question to the country when he was running against Jimmy Carter: Are you better off than you were four years ago? (a poll out just today from The Hill reports that a majority of Americans---52%---they are worse off today than they were in September 2008).
And the other question also gets to the heart of the dilemma facing Democrats: How do you defend such a dismal record?
I'm going to focus on the second question today.
- How do you defend almost 4 years of unemployment over 8%? (approximately 23 million Americans either unemployed or underemployed. Unemployment, not counting underemployment for blacks stands at 15% For younger blacks, it's stands at 17.3% up from 13.4% in 2009).
- How do you defend food stamp use---as reported just today---climbing to 46.7 million Americans?
- How do you defend a record number of Americans in poverty at over 46 million, an increase of over 6 million since Pres. Obama took office?
- How do you defend not having a federal budget for over 3 years now?
- How do you defend a deficit of over $1 trillion for the 4th year in a row?
- How do you defend a national debt that grew more in 3 years than in the 8 years of Pres. Bush (and he over-spent too) this week to surpass $16 trillion?
- How do you defend the nonsense and incompetence that went on with "green" companies like Solyndra (where tax payer money was wasted while donors got plumb jobs)?
- How do you defend Fast and Furious?
"Somewhere in Kenya, a village is missing its Empty Chair." Tweet by Finn
- Today is National Empty Chair Day. Many Americans will be placing empty chairs on their front lawns today. Polls have shown that Clint Eastwood's Empty Chair strategy has been vindicated (Hot Air).
- But a question did pop into my head and I Tweeted it last night. What if the Empty Chair had a child, what would it look like? I found the answer (image above).

- Well, Democrats and Liberals will have to ask themselves a tough question: Is Bill Clinton a racist? Considering they always file that claim against Republicans and Conservatives, they are faced with a dilemma. According to the New Yorker, Clinton, in a remark to the late Ted Kennedy, said, "A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying out bags." The comment was similar to the one attributed to Bubba in a 2010 book when he was alleged to have said, "A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee." This should surprise no one because Edward Klein, in his book "The Amateur," wrote Clinton referred to Obama as "incompetent" and "an amateur."
- We certainly know if any of those comments were attributed to a Republican, he/she would be proclaimed a racist. How do I come to that conclusion? Because they do it anyway with absolutely no proof. One just has to review the remarks made by that dufis, Chris Mathews, last week.

- And the NY Post is reporting today that Obama advisors tried to keep Clinton off the big stage at their convention this week. But David Axelrod argued that Obama needs Clinton more than Clinton needs Obama. Clinton, by many observers, will be used to remind the voters of "glory days" of Clinton's administration hoping Obama can ride those coattails.
- Another question arises: Considering it's common knowledge the Obama's and Clinton's dislike each other, will Bubba try to upstage President Obama? It has been reported that Hillary Clinton will conveniently be out of the country this week during the DNC Convention.
- When are voters going to learn that they have been betrayed by the Democrats who promised them things we cannot afford?
- And for those 20 million + Americans out of work, do you really want another 4 years of this?
