The Obamacare Critics Vindicated

You're too Canadian if: you're laughing at Obamcare...Tim McRaw, comedian

A video surfaced this week that clearly shows the critics of Obamacare were right all along. In the video, the architect of Obamacare---Jonathan Gruber---actually bragged about deceiving the American people. Gruber made his comments at a special event on the campus of MIT about one year ago. In short, he admitted to lying about the law in order to help the Obama administration and Democrats get support for the law.

In one part of the video, Gruber says, "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage." He's right. That's why this administration has been one of the most opaque administrations in American history. Later he added this, "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter..." Once again, while there's some truth to that statement, one of the main reasons a majority of Americans still don't support Obamacare is because there are also many smart Americans.

It's certainly no secret that the first impulse of this administration and of many Democrats has been to lie to the American people. In fact, Obamacare actually helped expose their lies, deceit, dishonesty, and arrogance. In the last six years, we've seen an administration (and its complicit media) without any core principles. It's actions are based on a warped progressive ideology. Truth be damned. Transparency be damned. Americans be damned. It's as simple as that. As I've posted in the past: the progressive political class keeps flipping American the bird. Obamacare is just one example of that kind of contemptuous and imperious behavior.

Earlier this year, Michelle Malkin summarized Obamacare best: "It's not salvation. It's a criminal enterprise rooted in ideological fraud." Jonathan Gruber admitted that himself.  For once, the administration actually told the truth.

Postscript: Since this was posted last week, The NY Post reported that Gruber profited handsomely from his deceit to the tune of at least $1.5M. Count on that number going higher with more revelations.  Obamacare is an agenda built on lies.

Also breaking in the last few days, as Obama said Gruber was only an "adviser," it's now reported that Obama praised him as "someone he'd {Obama} stolen ideas from, liberally." Oops!!! Caught again in a web of more lies.

If You Like Obama, You Will Love Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton Reveals Zero In Non-Candid, Tell-Nothing Interview...The Onion

In the last several years, I've written quite a few pieces about Hillary Clinton. Most of those posts can be summarized with the following that are also a direct reflection of Pres. Obama's policies:

  • She's the perfect progressive politician: Good at nothing; bad at everything.
  • Gov.track.us reported on her trifling record of accomplishments as Senator. They also reported she missed 10% of her votes. The average is about 2% among senators.
  • As Senator and as Secretary of State, she had no major foreign policy successes in addition to no diplomatic accomplishments. Her claim to infamous fame can be defined by one word: Benghazi. This terrorist incident took place on her watch. Subsequent investigations to the incident reported on major systemic failures at State.
  • The progressives at The Washington Post were forced to ask themselves: "Where is the record of accomplishment, let alone greatness."
  • Heritage Foundation (a conservative group) wrote: "America's position as a superpower is being weakened by Pres. Obama and Secretary Clinton's failure to stand up to tyranny." How prescient were they then considering the state of geopolitical politics today?
  • It was on her watch when the Muslim Brotherhood gained power in Egypt. It was on her watch when Syria plunged into civil war hell. She actually called Assad a "reformer" at one time.
  • It was her State Department that refused to brand Boko Haram a terrorist organization. Since then, Boko Haram has terrorized and murdered thousands of people especially young women and Christians.
  • Remember, HillaryCare was the forerunner to Obamacare---both disastrous.
  • To put it mildly (perhaps not), her public appearances have been a total disaster this past year. From the failed roll-out of her book {Hard Choices} to basically claiming she and Bubba were poor to parroting Obama two weeks ago in proclaiming that businesses and corporations don't create jobs.
  • Jonathan S. Tobin wrote recently: "Clinton never seems to know what she stands for except her own advancement." He referred to it as "transparent inauthenticity."
  • This summer, when several of her supporters were asked about Clinton's accomplishments, they couldn't think of one major accomplishment other than "she traveled a lot."
After all of this and more, the only thing Hillary Clinton has left is her name recognition. Unfortunately, we continue to be a nation of many knuckleheads especially when it comes to politics. After all, how else can anyone explain Obama winning two terms? And we know how schizophrenic voters can be. They often vote for the same politicians who created the problems in the first place.

Having said that, the 2014 mid-term elections do offer up some hope (not the Obama type hope either). It appears more Americans are finally realizing they've been conned big time. Nevertheless, as I wrote recently, don't put a fork in Hillary Clinton yet. But the recent elections show that more Americans are keeping their forks handy---for now.

Postscript: Since this was posted, more Hillary Clinton scandals are emerging.

Americans Took A Stand This Week---Will Republicans?

President Obama is our first official "blame duck" president...WH Press Secretary Tweet

This week, Americans took a stand. In short, they've made it crystal clear to the Obama administration and to the progressive political class,  we've had enough. We've had enough of your government overreach. We've had enough of your arrogance. We've had enough of your incompetence and dysfunction. We've had enough of your transformation. We've had enough (the same can be said to the main stream media too).

Having said that, just because the Republicans won big, Americans will not be giving them a pass. As most polls indicate, Americans haven't been too thrilled with them either. They've had enough of progressive Republicans too.

The progressive political class failed. They've always failed.  We also know they can't be trusted. How can they be when their first impulse is to lie---about everything.  That leaves only the conservatives to make the play that will drive the nation into the end zone. The only way the conservatives will drive into the end zone will be to follow true and tested core conservative principles. These include---but are not limited to---the following:

  • Follow The Constitution. The writers of that document knew what they were doing. Most were smarter than most living politicians today. In that document, the Founders made it clear that liberty is not granted. It's an inherent right---a fact lost on most progressives.
  • We  must remain suspicious of overreaching government. Fortunately, many Americans finally learned that lesson this week.
  • National security must be a national priority. There are just too many threats out there to do otherwise. This includes supporting a strong military.
  • Economic growth---with a strong focus on a free enterprise and economic liberty. This also includes targeting the unsustainable national debt in addition to pursuing the lowering of taxes, and cutting down on wasteful spending and fraud.
  • We already have a pathway to citizenship. It's called: legal immigration. Uphold those laws. Strengthen our borders. And tighten up our visa application process. No amnesty. (I speak to this as a legal immigrant myself).
  • Continued expansion of diversity within the Republican Party. That's right---continued. The big lie among progressives and their enablers in the media is that the party is not diverse. It is. That was proven again this week with the elections of Mia Love and Tim Scott just to name a few. The many faces of Republican conservative politicians include some of the following: Condi Rice, Gov. Nikki Haley (an Indian Sikh), Gov. Bobby Jindal (Indian-American), Gov.Susana Martinez  Sen. Ted Cruz, Former Rep. Allen West, Sen. Marc Rubio (Cuban-American),  Supreme Court Judge Thomas, and Herman Cain. In fact, diversity in the Republican Party goes back decades. One classic example was Hiram Revels, an African-American. He served as a U.S. Senate from Mississippi following the Civil War. He was accompanied by several of his peers during the same period (you won't find that fact in most history books). Nevertheless, outreach should and must continue.
The outcome for the Republican Party is clear.  They must focus on issues important to conservatives. This also includes growing a spine and stop tip-toeing through the tulips. For far too long, the Republican Party has been perceived as a feckless party of chumps. Today they don't even have to look far for their answers. Scott Walker won elections embracing conservative principles. Oh, and so did one other guy---Ronald Reagan.

Postscript: And will Republicans take on Obama for his immigration orders?

America Spoke: The Republican Tsunami Was A Massive Rejection Of Progressive Political Policies

Sandra Fluke lost her campaign for California state Senate and Obama didn't even call her. The good news is she finally got screwed...WH Press Secretary Tweet

  • The U.S. Constitution and America were the big winners last night. A majority of the American people voted put an end to big government. They finally came to the realization that big government is incompatible with freedom and liberty. The Republican tsunami last night was a massive rejection of progressive political policies. As John Podhoretz correctly pointed out today, the Republican victory was "wide and deep." In other words, Republicans finally opened up their can of whoop ass.
  • The American people---overwhelmingly---voted against Obamacare, against open borders for illegal aliens, against incompetency, against failed foreign policy initiatives and against lawlessness by the progressive political class. In other words,  the elections showed that Americans want to crush the policies of the Obama administration. In addition, don't kid yourselves, Hillary Clinton also lost big. In every place she and Bill Clinton appeared to show support for Democrat candidates in the last several months, those candidates lost.
  • And for one time at least, Pres. Obama was right. Last week, he said his policies were on the ballot. His policies were overwhelmingly rejected.
  • Having said all of that, I believe it's much too early to believe we can rely or trust the Republican Party. Keep in mind, in 2010 with the support of the Tea Party, Republicans also won big. What happened just two years later? Obama won a second term. In the past, I've written several posts about the fecklessness of the Republican Party often referring to it as a "mirage." They appear to be a party that all to often tip-toes through the tulips.
  • If they learned any lessons with this election, it's these: Most Americans do not want Republicans to enable any progressive policies in the future. And, conservative principles always win major elections for the Republican Party. Not only did we see that with Ron Reagan's blowout (winning 49 states) but Scott Walker won three out of four elections in just the last four years focusing on conservative core principles.
  • If you need more proof.  Mia Love of Utah and Tim Scott of S.C.---both black, conservative Republicans---won. Mia Love was the first black female Republican to be elected to Congress. And Tim Scott made history making him the first black candidate to win a state wide race in the South since the Civil War. That's powerful diversity that even progressives can only dream about.
  • I'll leave you with this. After the deliberations of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, a woman asked Ben Franklin, "Well, doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Frankly replied politely, "A republic, if you can keep it." Let's pray Republicans heed Franklin's advice.

Our Crib Sheet For The 2014 Mid-Term Elections

Nation's Roommates Debut New TV Spot Insisting "Elections Are Bullshit."...The Onion

In my previous post {"Voting Guide For Democrats + The Progressive Political Class"}, I encouraged Democrats to continue voting for Democrats + the progressive political class if they like the direction of the nation (the progressive political class also includes many Republicans).

So today, less than 24 hours before the mid-terms it's time for a crib sheet every voter can use when they close that curtain in the voting booth. It's not complicated. It's actually self-explanatory. In fact, much of this is not new but cheat sheets often nibble at the edge of our brains when we have to make critical decisions. Here we go:

  • Transformation that resulted in unrestrained exercise of power
  • The use of phony wars on gender, race and class
  • An administration and progressive political class whose first impulse is to reach for a lie
  • Fast and Furious
  • Benghazi
  • IRS scandal
  • VA scandal
  • NSA scandal-the rise of the "surveillance state"
  • Obamacare's broken promises
  • Stimulus bill that only enriched donors, unions and political cronies
  • Lack of transparency (even his enabling press bitches about it)
  • The conspicuous use of the "blame game" rather than taking responsibility for failures
  • Designating Ft. Hood shooting as "workplace violence"
  • Keystone Pipeline and no coherent energy policy---in fact, a counter productive policy
  • The destruction of the coal industry especially in KY + W.VA where thousands have already lost their jobs and careers
  • Historical high rates of poverty
  • Border security, illegal immigration and amnesty
  • NSA scandal
  • GSA scandal
  • Eavesdropping and seizing records of journalists.
  • Billions wasted on energy initiatives such as Solyndra and dozens of similar "investments"
  • The rise of ISIS with the admission of the administration it had no strategy in confronting these terrorists
  • The release of 5 Taliban terrorists
  • Failed foreign policy (Russia, Iran, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Israel, etc)---including J.F.Kerry's diplomacy disasters (and Hillary Clinton before him) and the failure to predict Putin's intentions
  • Inappropriate remarks about Israel's PM (calling a certified war hero a "chickenshit")
  • America's loss of standing and prestige throughout the globe
  • Importing Ebola into America
  • Appointing an Ebola Czar whose a political hack and is largely AWOL
  • Allowing a race-baiting, alleged tax-evading thug like Al Sharpton into the highest levels of municipal, state and federal government
  • "You didn't build that" even though millions of Americans did.
  • Failing to reduce the national debt (now approaching $18T)
  • Average student loan debt now stands at about $25K per student
  • Pres. Obama's "leaderless" leadership style (it's now way beyond just "leading from behind).
  • Dozens and dozens of cases of alleged voter fraud largely by democrats and their operatives
There's certainly many more but you don't want to raise suspicions by standing in the voting booth too long---after all, the New Black Panthers wouldn't like that.

Voting Guide For Democrats + The Progressive Political Class

Traumatized Nation Terrified To Make Its Voice Heard In Another Election...The Onion

I decided to do a favor today for all those Democrats and the progressive political class who plan on voting next Tuesday. It's time for The Political War Zone to publish a voting guide.

I'm going to keep it very simple. By all means vote Democrat:

  • If you like big government even if it remains incompatible with freedom and liberty.
  • If you like restrictions on our rights as revealed by our government spying and threatening Americans and members of the press.
  • If you like a lawless administration.
  • If you like the IRS intimidating Americans who happen to be members of a particular political class. In other words, a government and administration that wields the power of government against ordinary citizens.
  • If you like the first thing your government does is reaching for a lie.
  • If your an African-American and are satisfied with official unemployment in your community remaining at 11% and unemployment among your youth ranging from 30 to over 40% in some demographic areas.
  • If you like the number of actually unemployed Americans approaching 19 million.
  • If you like more bad people owning guns rather than more good people owning legal firearms.
  • If you like the U.S. losing its geo-political prestige, strength and influence across the globe.
  • If you like the U.S. being intimidated by the likes of Iran, Russia, and N. Korea. Or an administration that prefers to bully Americans rather than rattle its sabres against its enemies.
  • If you like an administration---that by its own admission---had no strategy against the rise of ISIS.
  • If you like an administration that's come up with few original ideas or policies.
  • If you like phony exploitation wars against women, minorities and class.
  • If you like the rise of terrorism across the globe because the current administration keeps erasing its own red lines.
  • If you like the world's leading health care system ravaged by Obamacare.
  • If you like Americans living in record-high poverty.(44M+)
  • If you like a record-high number of Americans receiving food stamps. (46M+)
  • If you like to watch the middle-class keep shrinking resulting in the previous two points above.
  • If you like the president of the U.S. spending more time attending fundraisers, taking countless vacations rather than governing. In addition to giving plumb government jobs and contracts to big donors.
  • If you like terrorist released from detention then found fighting for ISIS or some other terrorist group.
  • If you like political correctness trumping reasonable common sense in decision making.
  • If you like an administration and government awash in confusion, scandals and incompetence.
  • If you like thugs like Al Sharpton continuing to have influence within the highest levels of our government.
  • If you like the current national debt quickly approaching $18T and interest being paid at that debt of almost $3T amounting to just under $8,000 per citizen.
  • If you like more and more Americans losing their life-long pensions.
  • If you like pumping billions of taxpayers money into failed school systems.
  • If you liked billions of taxpayer's money wasted and lost on green initiatives.
  • If you like an administration and government that never accepts responsibilities for its failures and manages to blame others.
  • If you like giving amnesty to thousands of illegal immigrants as they jump ahead of those immigrants who follow the legal pathway to citizenship.
  • If you like voter fraud.
If you like all of that and more, then by all means vote for Democrats. Hope this helps.

Ebola Reveals The Arrogance + Selfishness Of Some In The Medical Community

...If I return from West Africa, I would of course quarantine. I'm not a narcissistic anti-human sociopath...John Nolte Tweet

  • Two weeks ago, I wrote my first piece addressing Ebola {"Ebola: As Experts And The Government Trip Over Their Own Rhetoric, Who Are We To Trust?"}. In short, I pointed out we all have a responsibility to ensure we don't instill hysteria in the general population. (I noted fear is good. It makes one alert). But we also have a responsibility to report the truth about Ebola to the public. And it's precisely there where we have the problems. In the last several weeks, we've been witness to 1-misinformation and several changes in the protocol regarding treatment and quarantine and 2-medical personnel returning from W. Africa who themselves have not followed the protocol guidelines. Namely, they were to self-quarantine themselves but decided to violate those protocols.
  • We initially saw this behavior with Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC News Chief Medical Editor at NBC News. She allegedly decided to leave her self-imposed quarantine in Princeton and get some take-out at a local restaurant in Princeton, NJ.
  • Dr. Craig Spencer reportedly told the NYPD he quarantined himself in his Manhattan apartment after returning from a tour in W. Africa treating patients with Ebola. It was later discovered he actually decided to go bowling, taking the subway, jogging and visited at least one restaurant.
  • And perhaps the most conspicuous example has been the behavior of nurse Kaci Hickox. She returned from W. Africa and was placed in quarantine in a tent outside of University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She claimed she didn't like the way she was being treated while being quarantined in a tent and all. She claims her rights were violated. Yes indeed, she happens to be a nurse who just returned from W. Africa performing a noble task taking care of patients with Ebola. Kudos! But where was she staying in Africa?---at the Marriott? And regarding living a tent, thousands upon thousands of people live in tents either camping or in emergencies or even when they happen to be homeless. Or as one observer remarked: "Are health workers who travel to Africa to save lives willing to jeopardize lives upon their return?" Great question. And today, upon her return to Maine, she told Matt Lauer of the Today Show that: "I don't plan sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me even though I am in perfectly good health..." {Her quarantine in Maine would end Nov. 10}.
  • While there remains a lot of misinformation and disorganization {largely from the administration and the CDC regarding Ebola}, Nurse Hickox should understand that breaking the current established protocols could place others in jeopardy. In fact, states and local municipalities do have the legal authority to protect the health, safety and welfare of people within their borders. Most states have laws in place to enforce the use of isolation and quarantine. On the other hand, citizens should and must confront authorities if they believe those same authorities are in any way violating the patient's rights under The Constitution. I believe NJ had the legal authority to quarantine this particular patient. But we can leave that to the courts to decide if it ever goes that far.
