"We won't duck the tough issues...we will lead." Paul Ryan today
I purposely have not listened to the pundits reaction to Romney's choosing Paul Ryan (the announcement is less than two hours old). In my opinion, the choice of Paul Ryan (R-WI) by Romney today is an outstanding choice on many levels for the following reasons:
"We won't blame others. We will take responsibility." Paul Ryan today
- Ryan brings competence to government.
- He generates big, bold ideas. He's recognized as one of the smartest persons in Congress.
- He energizes the Republican base (his choice will also energize the Democrat base).
- He's young and does not represent the Republican elite establishment. Yet, he's well-liked and well-respected by most of his Republican colleagues.
- He's a fighter who is non-threatening able to debate with charm, cool and with reason.
- He's a reformer as evidenced clearly by his initiatives to tackle out-of-control government spending and fraud in Medicaid, Medicare and a host of other government programs.

'Romney Murdered JonBenet Ramsey,' New Obama Campaign Alleges...The Onion
- Let's get something out of the way: It's a myth that Obama is a nice guy (and this is also directed at many Republicans and Conservatives out there who keep declaring this nonsense. You don't need to preface every statement on TV and radio with "Obama is a nice guy but...Stop it already!) . Where's the evidence Obama is a nice guy? There is none with one exception. He does appear to be a good father.
- We know politics is a dirty game. It's played by many ethically challenged individuals as evidenced by the Obama campaign, a campaign that blatantly uses political terrorism as well as economic terrorism as weapons. It's an administration that has ravaged and damaged a great nation. It's also ruined the dreams of future generations.
Liberian Swimmer Spends Entirety Of Qualifying Race Furiously Scooping Water Into His Mouth...The Onion's Olympic Coverage

- While campaigning and fundraising in Colorado yesterday, Obama said to a group (largely of women): "We will finish what we started." If that statement is not scary enough for a majority of Americans, many in the crowd cheered that statement. That's friggin scary.
- Polling appears to be conflicting. Reuters/Ipsos Poll found---among registered voters---Obama leads Romney 49-42%. Even more disturbing, these voters gave Obama and edge over Romney in handling the economy. Now that's friggin scary.
- However, Rasmussen's daily tracking poll has Romney leading Obama 47-43%.
- As a sidebar, Rasmussen found 61% of voters nationwide have a favorable opinion of Chick-fil-A while only 13% plan to boycott the company.
- Speaking of Chick-fil-A, do you know when Mayor Rham Emanuel of Chicago said Chick fil A did not reflect "Chicago values," he invited Louis Farrahkhan to help quell the out-of-control violence and murder rates in Chicago? In addition, as he directed his hate toward the fast-food chain, he said nothing of the black congregations that also oppose same-sex marriage. Can you define "hypocrisy?"

Blind South Korean Archer Set New World Record Before Accidentally Murdering Eight...The Onion's Olympic Coverage

- I've written a number of pieces about the diversions and distractions used by the Obama campaign and its surrogates like Reid, Pelosi, and Wasserman {pictured above}.
- Romney has been called a wimp, a felon, a dog abuser {but he didn't have dog recipes like Obama did...mmmmmm}, a bully {remember when they went back over 40 or more years about some alleged attack on some alleged gay student?}, a sleazy venture capitalist, a guy who has overseas bank accounts {allow me to ask the reader this question: If you had a large bank account, and you know some foreign banks had better savings rates than you would fine here, where are you going to put your money? Moreover, they keep taking Romney to task for being wealthy but keep giving their friends a pass. For example, Oprah's net worth is in the billions. Where's the outrage about her wealth? Or where is the outrage about John Kerry's inherited wealth?}, and, more recently, the charge from Reid that Romney has not paid his taxes for 10 years{refer to my piece yesterday where even the Washington Post proclaimed that assertion was a lie}...
- And now...he's a murderer. Yes, a woman lost her battle with cancer because her health insurance was cut off and she died. Romney, according to the Democrat ad...murdered that poor woman {Of course, what the ad does not say is Romney had been seven years removed from Bain at the time of her death in 2006. This according to Politico. And CNN reported she did have health care until 2003 or 2004 until she left the company due to an injury. In addition, the ad failed to say she did get health care}.
- But to the Democrats, lies are only speed bumps in the road. They slow down when they come upon one and then speed up again.

- Moreover, all politicians send jobs overseas. All those who have Apple products and complain about sending jobs overseas, do they even know Apple products are largely made overseas, mostly in China? {Droids are also largely made overseas largely in Mexico and Canada}. Or that Toyota was the best selling auto brand last year? Or that GM, Obama's favorite auto company and one that received huge tax-payer funded bailouts, invested over $1 billion in Brazil (a week after the bailout). And, according to the U.S.-China Business Council, we bought almost $400 billion worth of Chinese products in 2011?
GOP Trying To Keep Elderly Voting Base Alive Until November...Onion's political headline

- In my piece yesterday, I referred to the knee-pad media proclaiming the Sikh shooter was an Army veteran within a few minutes of the shootings. On the other hand, they withheld reporting anything about the Ft. Hood shooter for almost a day even though they knew he was an Islamist fanatic. For example, for almost a full day, the Drudge headline referred to him as an "Army Vet." Headlines across the country mimicked that headline. In fact, they continued using it even after it was revealed the shooter had ties to White Supremacists. There's only one reason the media does this when it comes to the few veterans or active military who commit major crimes: they want to try to prove they are nuts. They continue to do this even though the crime rate among the over 20 million veterans in this country is so low it barely registers on any data sheet.
- And raising this "crazed Vet"" and/or "crazed military" myth is not specific to the news media. Hollywood has been doing it for years with movies like "Platoon" that featured fragging and "Casualties of War" when Sean Penn's character ordered his soldiers to kidnap, rape and kill a Vietnamese girl. And the number of times crazed vets have been featured on TV dramas is too great to list here (along with crooked cops).
- Right now, as of this writing, we only know this as John Podhoretz points out so well today: "He's a Nazi. Not a soldier."
- He's also been called a "Domestic Terrorist." Why wasn't the guy who killed all those people in Aurora called a "Domestic Terrorist?" Hey, just askin'.

There are a lot of famous clowns. Bozo the Clown, Krusty the Clown, Joe Biden. There's three right there...Ferguson

- Before I begin, a thought raced through my mind this morning after pondering the the Chick Fil A controversy. Did you notice those who have been bullied most of their lives (gays) have now become bullies themselves? Just sayin'. And regarding the failed Kiss In protest, one person on Twitter made the point they want same-sex marriage but can't commit to a one-day protest.
- One more racing thought. Pres. Obama did not support same-sex marriage until a few months ago. Does that mean he would not have been allowed in Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia since he didn't fit their values as Rham Emanuel declared so foolishly?
- The evidence of media bias is now so overwhelming, they don't even care anymore. It's evidenced every day. How often have we seen them covering for Obama and the Left rather than covering both? Countless times.
- In 2008, media coverage of Obama was 61% positive compared to 31% for McCain (Huffington Post). This week it was reported that 86% of the media's coverage of Romney has been negative (Forbes/Bing News).
