- In the past, I've written several pieces about progressives---why they are dangerous, the failure and pain of their policies and ideology, their offering up false prophets and how they profit from divisiveness and intolerance.
- It's becoming more clear progressives are racists, misogynists, anti-faith, anti-family, anti-rich, anti-free speech and just plain spiteful, vicious and malicious.
- And we're watching this play out not only in the beltway but in many of our cities. New York is one example.
- Mayor de Blasio is just one example. I've reported on his hard-left ideology in the past. But one has to dig deeper than just the executive branch. For example, Melissa Mark-Viverito, who represents East Harlem, will likely become the next Speaker in NYC Council.
- So who is Melissa Mark-Viverto? According to reports in the NY Post this week, she once lobbied on behalf of five Cuban intelligence agents convicted of spying against the United States. She also lobbied for the release of the leader of the FALN, a Puerto Rican domestic terrorist group (She was born in Puerto Rico).
- But like de Blasio's pursuit of eliminating income inequality, she's also a millionaire. In other words, both are what we commonly refer to as "limousine liberals" or conspicuous hypocrites. These are people who force the poor to go to horrific public schools but send their children to private schools. These are people who supported forced busing while sending their children to private schools in limousines. These are people who claim their environmentalists but use large SUV's, limos and private aircraft. These are hypocrites like John Edwards who paid $400 for his haircuts but lectured on on the "two America's"---one poor and one rich (de Blasio's inauguration speech referred to "the two New York's"). These are the same people who want us to pays more taxes but skirt paying taxes themselves, e.g. Charlie Rangel, Tim Geithner, Al Sharpton, etc.
- In fact, this Melissa Mark-Viverito knew she was about to inherit a vast fortune, so she bought a subsidized home reserved for low income New Yorkers. She's yet to repay almost a low interest $80 grand home loan she received in 1998. And she, like many of the other de Blasio appointees, are former members of SEIU, Service Employees International Union, long associated with ACORN. (NY Post/Washington Post).
- In other words, as these hypocrites proclaim income and economic inequality, they are part of the nation's 1%. They've infiltrated every aspect of government from local to national. They've conned their own supporters for decades. They are false prophets. That's why all Americans should pay attention.
