At National Prayer Breakfast, Pres. Obama Diverts Attention From Today's Islamist Homicidal Maniacs To Insult Christians

"If Islam is a 'Religion of Peace,' it's time to show the evidence to the endangered Christians in the Middle East." Ralph Peters

At the National Prayer Breakfast today, Pres. Obama wanted everyone to know that Islam is not the only religion that is responsible for religious terrorism. He said the following: "Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."

While there is certainly some truth to his claim, I'm obliged to ask him this question: Mr. President, why did you have to go back to the 16th century to make some warped point? That was yesterday. We're confronting Islamist today. In addition, Christianity went through a "reformation." Islam did not. Moreover, after years of denying that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism, Obama admitted it does with this statement  "But we also see faith today being twisted and distorted, used as a wedge---or worse, sometimes used as a weapon."

Yet, after making that statement and others, he felt obliged to do what many progressives do---resort to diverting attention away from the real enemy---radical Islam. Hence, his statement referring to the Crusades---in essence, a European War {some refer to it as a "Religious War"} against the then spread of Islamist expansion. And while that's almost ancient history, the goal of Islamist today remains largely the same---to spread a caliphate or an Islamic form of government. And throughout all of this, Pres. Obama, as well as his enablers in the media, rarely mentions Islamist stacking one Christian body upon another throughout the globe. Instead, it was this administration that chose to wage a hashtag war against homicidal maniacs like Boko Haram instead of arming those hashtags.

This administration keeps lecturing us on the need to coexist with Islam. But how do we coexist with millions of people who want to kill us? I've often said I don't have a problem with Islam but I do have a problem with so many practitioners of that faith who have a penchant for burning people alive, kidnapping young women, honor killings, forced marriages, antisemitism, using children as bombs and human shields, terrorism and beheading innocents.

Other than that Mr. President---what can possibly go wrong? Hope you enjoyed breakfast.
