The Iran Deal Was More Than A Clusterf#ck---It Was Deception

Iran Claims It Launched Monkey Into Space...The Onion
----

Last July, I declared the Obama administration's Iran Deal was its his biggest clusterf#ck yet. At the time, we knew Iran was directly involved in global terrorism (it still is),  We knew they supported Hamas against Israel (they still do).  In short, the Iran evil empire continues its war against Western civilization.

But we didn't know this: The Obama administration lied to the American people. Lying is nothing new to progressives.  However, as John Podhoretz reported, editor of Commentary Magazine, the Obama administration used "deceit" to sell the Iran Deal.  But what's even more surprising, the deception was reported by the New York Times---not the National Review or The Daily Caller or even Brietbart---all conservative publications. No, the revelation came from a left-wing news source.

This is what we do know thus far:
  • The Obama administration sold the American people, Congress and the press, a false narrative.
  • The press (the dupes in this entire episode) were simply repeating talking points given to them by the Obama administration.  In this case, the mastermind of the deception was Ben Rhodes, the Obama administration's adviser for strategic communications.
  • According to The Times piece, Obama misled the public.
  • In fact, Rhodes actually admitted the media did not properly report on the deal as well as how the administration fed this deception to reporters. Rhodes said: "Most of the outlets are reporting on world events from Washington. The average reporter we talk to is 27 years old, and their only reporting experience consists of being around political campaigns...They literally know nothing."  In other words, he's admitting how easy it is to con the media.
At the end of my July piece, I asked: Would you believe these pricks? (I know. Rough language but appropriate in this case). Well, the answer is now clear:  We can't.
