From Benghazi To Ft. Hood: Death By Government Cover-Up, Appeasement + Political Correctness

Whatever the story here, the idea that the U.S. Army has to call 911 when their bases are attacked is flat-out insane...Tweet by David Burge

  • Regarding yesterday's incident at Ft. Hood, it's much too early to come to any conclusions. Speculating is a waste of time until all the evidence has been collected and assessed.
  • What we do know from the 2009 attack at Ft. Hood by Nidal Hasan is that political correctness played a huge part prior to and after the attack where 13 were killed and about 32 were injured. To this very day, that attack has been designated an act of "nonpolitical workplace violence." This designation remains even though Hasan himself referenced religion and war. At his trial, he said, "Evidence will show I was on the wrong side of America's war, and I later switched sides." In fact, prior to the attack, the FBI knew Hasan was communicating with known terrorist leader al-Awlaki.
  • And yesterday, we were exposed to yet more evidence of government cover-up. The CIA's former deputy director, Mike Morell, said he deleted references to terrorism warnings in the disputed talking points regarding the attack on our consulate in Benghazi.
  • If you listened or watched his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, it was clear he was inconsistent, evasive and perhaps even deceitful a fact that should surprise no one considering those are the characteristics of every intelligence officer anyway.
  • For example, Morell said the CIA knew that some of the attackers were affiliated with al-Qaeda yet he deleted references to al-Qaeda in the talking points, the same talking points that were later used by then U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice when she appeared on several Sunday news-talk shows.
  • Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer also made this observation: "When Clapper {Director of National Intelligence} was asked who changed the al-Qaeda reference {in previous testimony}, Clapper said he didn't know. Morell was sitting right there..." In other words, Morell know Clapper was giving Congress misleading testimony.
  • Even Sharyl Attkisson, the former CBS reporter who did outstanding work on Benghazi, noted it was unclear "why federal officials seemed so confused and provided some much contradictory information about how the talking points evolved."

  • Morell also denied he was protecting Hillary Clinton {then Secretary of State} for political benefit. And that raises several other concerns. For those who are not in the know, Morell is affiliated Beacon Global Strategies. Last week, Fox News reported that Beacon Global Strategies is a haven for former ex-government executives including advisers to the Clintons.
